yumpop is another burner who feels.. he is a true burner cuz he didn't attend the RH event cuz he didn't read about it on some "forum" and chased it down...

Apparently, I am not a 'real' burner because I attended BM cuz I was 'chasing' a great time or event...

My question is... WTH does any of this even matter? If you, me or anyone else for that matter has a great time at BM, RH, CF or whatever... and we wanna share it with the forum so that others can enjoy it... and/or offer their opinions. Why in the world not?

I wasn't talking about you, I was speaking in general. It matters because RH used to have a comfortable door, brown paper tickets, no invite codes. Because they became so popular on and off the playa, they had to tighten things. It is just like Cityfox, my favorite nights were Monkey Business and Space Nights, after pics of those events were online, their party blew up

And I am a she

My apologies~~~

Guess you're not gonna share any great events you go to for fear that they may too 'blow up'?

This thread. Much scene. :stongue:

This venue looked a lot bigger but also felt a lot more packed. Didn't have the same vibe, felt more generic despite the visuals. I thought the sound wasn't as good too. I have my super new high fidelity plugs and can hear all the bad echos and overdriven drivers flapping like wet butts. System at the old warehouse was much tighter.

Also, the line situation was a mess. Lots of cutting and very slow. Got there before ten walls set, didn't get in until it was basically over and that was with presale. Felt very amateur outside compared to previous events. Not enough fencing or directions so people were cutting in and out and generally a mess.

Maceo was pretty good, didn't really grab, was much better in Detroit with half the time slot. Nuno was slow as . really blew that great time slot. I was hoping with every new track it would start to pick up but it dragged out forever.

Also lots of girls in bandage dresses and heels. Felt like i was in meatpacking circa 2011.

I had fun, stayed the whole morning, but the lack of vibe, disorganized lines are making me reconsider my Halloween plans. Already have a CF ticket but might do Marco or like CarS said, 8 hours of Silent Servant :whip:

The events I prefer are usually more Brooklyn centric or after hours. What is good about Brooklyn is you can get a night's rest and show up to an after hours at seven am to hear a solid dj, maybe they played a bigger party earlier, maybe they were booked as after hours, maybe they are passing through town and ended up on. That to me is where the most organic of experiences are and where a dj is more likely to be experimental to play something that is out of their current tour selection(if they are one of those djs)

IMO Cityfox will be good for Halloween, so will T&F at TBA, and DT at Output, the next night absolutely Get Spooky

If I was going to a big party this weekend, resolute at Output for Apollonia or Movinroots at TBA for Martin Landsky, both events have solid locals too

There is a stupid ass promoter who puts Cityfox flyers in their mediocre gym, then posts pics of the flyers they displayed, blame that person

Burning Man is just one of those things you have to experience, it can't be described...

RH probably used twice the space cityfox used.. and probably drew in double that of the last cityfox party.

Production wise? RH beats CF in every aspect.

Crowd wise? it would be insulting to RH to even compare... lol don't get me wrong... Cityfox throws a great party though.

Music wise? Well... IMO, the ppl that goto RH, go for the experience, and the music is a fraction of that.

I think, considering RH charges $125pp, and the ticket requires a invite code, and they still draw in a HUGE crowd... kinda speaks for itself... no?

Yeaaaaa, I wouldn't go that far.

I don't think RH used twice the space. The dancefloor + back area of cityfox I'd say is almost as big as the RH space if not the same as the RH Halloween party.

Crowd wise I'd say it's pretty close as well, I think there is a lot of overlap in crowds.

Production I'd say is pretty close as well. I thought the 3d mapping at Cityfox was pretty incredible. RH wins in the props department though.

Both parties have tons of hot sluts wearing close to nothing.

Not much to complain about really, but I'll say both RH and Cityfox are fully "mainstream" now.

that would've been my first pick, but it's not DT solo anymore (if it ever was, thought so), and that's where he's so godd, an 8-10h set.
Hoping for a pre-Christmas repeat like last years...

Plus, for Halloween, you kinda want to be not in a club.

so for sheer quality, and a chill vibe, despite the small venue, it's def. Sandwell district

my buds are mostly going to sleep after lesh, lol, so no prob.

Last Halloween even though I was given a code, I chose another party over it. Then on the second night, I ended up there like three am, no ticket. Stood outside for a minute and they just completely opened the doors to everyone out there, right before Lee got on and was handed coconut water because RH was smart to keep the crowd healthy, I was there because I was meant to be there, just like it should happen to find you on the playa, not because you read about it on some board and chased them

ing gold i tell you, the diarrhea of her fingers is awesome sauce

just so yall know, she's a wealth management advisors and there are party police who monitor these forums which would jeopardize her career

Crowd: Yes.. there is alot of overlap, I agree... but cityfox is really a dance event which happens to attract burner people. Therefore, the idea of community, love, self-expression with costumes, sharing, etc etc.. isn't really a focus of cityfox. They're really about providing a great production of great music. Robot Heart is a burner event which happens to attract non-burner people... Therefore, I tend to think the RH event gives off a stronger positive VIBE. (once again, cityfox still throws a great party!)

Production: Oh.. if you compare video to video then I agree... CF beats RH! But I consider the props part of the production.

Girls? hmm.. yea.. I strongly disagree with you there... lol... RH is famous for their Halloween party... and well... there's a reason why that is the case... lol... Nevertheless, I am probably as hopeful as you are that CF will give them a run for there money this Halloween. hahahaha

not jumping any thing here, but I had to at this, made me smile.

guess I'm just too cynical to think that it goes beyond "idea".

You tend to look for signs of decadence to prove this, and if VIP seats, franchising, etc with the originals is an example, there's plenty from BRC too.

(by originals I mean the bookings at the Cap by Shapiro, and the fact that he actually sells some fo those jokey $1500 presidential boxes, lol).

at least most of the believers in BRC are still young, it's a great excuse

:)

but on a somber note: where is that anti-war / anti-bomb / anti-meddle movement?
back some 50 years ago, a mass of 70+k people got something rolling, but today?
maybe I'm just blind and deaf, but seems pretty awol.

what's left is pure self-fulfillment (which I'm not condemning)

sorry about the politics....

You're right For me, the RH events are more worth the price tag because of the atmosphere and overall guaranteed good time. I mean, this warehouse was the same venue for both this CF and this springs RH and the spring setup was just absolutely immense. CF was much more intimate and probably used a sixth of the warehouse space that RH did. Just different vibes I suppose.

Also, heard that RH might be 11/1 but can't confirm that it's not just a rumor.

I just heard the same rumor... RH will be 11/1 as well..
strange they haven't even promoted at all for it yet.
hmm... maybe this rumor made a full circle back to you! lol
did you start it? hahaha

Lol, I was giving up hope, but now take a look at this from RH -
