Anyone hating on anybody they haven't seen live has zero credibility. Dixon is next level.

Meh. Not everybody likes that sound man. Never seen him live but I've heard more than one of his live sets on quite a big home system and it doesn't do it for me. To me his music lacks excitement and fun. There's so many other DJs that play sounds I do like that there's no reason to waste time and money going to shows I know I'm not going to like as much.

Fwiw, my home system sounds better than most club systems. And if I don't care for the music why would it all of a sudden be amazing just because he's there live mixing it? Don't dig the innervisions sound, its not for me. I find it strange that so many ppl hop onto whatever the hot sound/label is so frequently.

I let my ears judge the music. I'm not in this to see every last dj just cuz RA or social media annoints them.

I was all-in on Drumcode and CLR for yrs, but until I started going to see DJs like Tale of Us, Damian Lazarus, Dixon, Mano, Gerber... I didn't realize how much more I enjoyed the ride of a set that builds and is like a roller coaster that eventually will get to a Drumcode-esque portion. Mano and Tale of Us routinely play Drumcode tracks in their sets, but they set it up and don't just drill you with 128 BPMs for 8 hours. I enjoy the longer parties, and for those I can't handle banging the entire way through

That 118-120 I got to hear on the frank and tony yacht went way harder than the 125-128 stuff they play in clubs. A wise man (huge wirldwide dj) once told me that once u gst under 120 bpm gets funky and its more danceable than the a bit more up tempo stuff and damn was he right

I dig Tale of Us, Adriatique, Lazarus can be decent. Don't like Dixon's sound at all.

You guys make it sound like all I listen to is DC. They are my favorite yes, but I like a lot of . For instance, Francois K is one of my favorites because he can incorporate so many different sounds but his overriding theme is a good pace with percussion...for me, I almost have to have a good amount of percussive elements.

But yeah, generally I like the faster BPM. I saw Popof at Trade last week (in the small room, at first I thought all Trade is is Treehouse v 2.0 until I went back for the real deal on Friday night, ha) and that was a set I really enjoyed. He did play the slower 120-124 BPM or so but it was techy and hard and minimalish with some funk. Was very good.

And let's be honest though, nothing is better than 127-129 BPM tech-house and techno (like DC) in a car system with the windows down :toothless
