The vibe was unreal. Got in there in the middle of mind against set whom were rocking the party properly. Recondite was was interesting but a bit slow for my liking. IMO he should have played before mind against. But Dixon set the place on fire. Now I understand the hype behind Dixon. Made feel like I was discovering electronic music for first time all over again.
If someone can ID the second track he played I'm willing to give you my right testicle. |

Where do I start? I'm still not a fan of that life and death sound. Mind Against absolutely bored me to death ::yawn:: Tried to go upstairs to catch Tennis for a bit before Recondite but it was completely stuffed and I couldn't breathe in there so back down stairs to stick it out through mind against. Recondite got on a brought so much bass heavy tunes, he was just as solid as I remember him being in Ibiza. He got a bit slow at the end but understandable since Dixon was on in a few.
Dixon left me speechless once again. That man is on a whole other level. Bomb after bomb and was no letting up. Had everyone in a trance and just dancing their hearts out. We finally left around 7 and he was still going. Didn't want to leave but needed to get some rest and check out a few galleries on Friday. All in all Recondite and Dixon were ace. Life and death still not my cup of tea
I was a bit disappointed that the plot crew didn't do more to incoporate Art Basel week. It was very minimal in everything. Wish they would of brought in some art or artists but there was absolutely nothing just felt like a normal club night. |

For me, and my crew, this party was absolutely incredible and lived up to everything I hoped it would be after seeing Dixon at BPM last year at Blue Venado.
Having never been to Grand Central, I was pleased to see it was a pretty large wide open space with multiple bars and a crisp, bangin' system. We immediately headed upstairs to see Tennis and the place was pretty jammed. This room was nowhere near as good as the main area but Tennis had everyone worked up and was dropping some of the signature Bombs he's been dropping in some of his recent recorded sets. Caught the beginning of Thugfvcker but headed downstairs shortly after they started because I did not want to miss Recondite.
Having never seen him before but having loved the majority of his productions, Recondite did not disappoint. His set was heavy as hell, so much bass, and that room was perfect for his sound. Really impressed with what he did and was wondering how Dixon was going to play his deep, trippy stuff after Recondite dropped heavy bass tracks for almost 90 minutes.
Well, Dixon didn't. He kept it going with the exception of his long eerie intro track. This was a much different set than the one I saw on the beach that night at Innervisions in Mexico. This was Berghain-style Dixon with relentless techno for the best of 3 hours. That guy plays puppet master on the decks like no one else in house and techno. As Donnie said he is in a class by himself, nobody else compares. Buddies of mine who had yet to see him all said "now I understand"...lol. And until you see the man himself on a proper night you have not seen the best. |

| I've never seen a DJ that plays only 3 CDJs that literally makes it sound like a live set. HIs mixing and track selection is as good as it gets. |

Pretty solid video of a number of Dixon's tracks. One of the standouts was the track from 6:30-8:00. Fvcking twisted grinding tune. And I believe the track at 1:45 was his 2nd track. Another standout for sure. Dood's tracks have the most ridic basslines.
