The party's over before it even began.
A German-based dance music festival that was planning to rock out in the Kingsbridge Armory is out of luck.
Organizers behind the bass-thumping Time Warp festival failed to acquire permits from the city needed to throw the rave-like party, multiple sources told The News on Thursday.
The massive music fest, which got its start in 1994 in Mannheim, Germany, chose the 180,000 square-foot Bronx locale over more traditional music venues to stick to the warehouse roots of house music. |
^^ I don't know if time warp would be that stupid given they've been running mega parties for years, but it is NYC so who knows |

they just posted this....
| quote: | Dear Time Warp US fans,
Unfortunately we have come across some unforeseen complications regarding the Kingsbridge Armory as our New York location. Although we were far into the approval process and had not experienced any issues, there’s always a risk when dealing with historical buildings. Local officials are working with us to advance our event at the best possible location.
In the meantime, we set up a help desk to further assist you - [email protected]. We apologize for the unexpected issues. The entire team is working very hard to deliver the best possible Time Warp experience at the best possible New York location. Thank you for your patience. We intend to make this night unforgettable.
Sincerely,
Time Warp Team |

Bogus!
"Although we were far into the approval process"
So really, they sold something they didn't even know they could deliver.
While there's prob. no intent here (thus prob. not fraud), this is BS.
They should have locked it up before offering it like this.
All the marketing words they used gave the appearance this was a lock, no question about it.
I'll still prob. go, but for people who were hesitant, the cool humongo space was a selling point.
Plus, the prices they're charging would have seemed way higher than normal if it had been clear this would be the same old same old warehouses, we al know.
Now it's just ordinary.
Wonder if they're offering refunds...
Hope they don't go to the effin' piers. |

| that really sucks. it's the perfect venue |

| Ughh it sucks. As Cars said, the venue was the selling point. The only thing that can make it up would be The Compound... But even that... |
