Lol ffs, most of us here are attention whores, including you. :stongue: |
Yea, but it was the insidious, viral nature of her attention whoring that put me off. It was like she was working the crowd to get in with them in a blatant and obvious way.
I don't want to be friends with most of you, nor do I want to be enemies, you just serve no purpose for me other than entertainment. If I make real life friends out of this place it's a bonus (and often an amazing bonus that I really am thankful for), but for the most part it is just for fun, s and giggles, etc. When I see someone who is like Frenchie I think "wtf is wrong with that person, what a try hard". |

Different cultures I guess. TA has always been really insular out here, we never had meet ups, nor did anyone really hang out in real life for whatever reason. We also had a ton of active and well known posters back in the day, all living within 30 miles of each other, yet almost none of us met up. I've met Idoru and Lews in the 10 years I've been on TA, and I'd have to go all the way to Montana for the next person I've met up with, so that doesn't even really count as far as the local scene goes.
I guess thats why it felt creepy. People that move that quickly in social circles in these parts tend to be looked at ladder climbers or something more negative.
Oh well. I still didn't like her, she was a total attention whore. |
those of us in flta met up quite a bit. met many a friends for life through that forum. also have met tas from england, australia, germany, and so many other places that im still friends with today.
even now, 10 years later im realizing people i know used to be on ta. and when we finally realize that its a cool moment. |

| If I ever ran into Orbax in real life I'd tinkle on him. |

See, that's what makes you a psycho. You think people are meant to serve a purpose for you? Wtf.

A few of my closest friends I met through TA and HA. And recently I became closer to a handful of TOTAs, because a friend of mine that ISN'T on TA dated someone who is. If it wasn't for that actually, I prob still would only have casual friendships with them, because I already have a solid group of friends. But it's definitely cool that after all this time I've finally become tighter with TOTAs.
I also know and have met + partied with lots of TAs from around the globe, mostly NA. :) |

If they are on this site and that is where my only interactions with them are then yes. If other people are taking this more seriously then that is their prerogative and their issue. |

Yeah, not what I meant at all.
I think it's telling that you haven't met or befriended many people from here, especially after being part of this community for so long.
That's WAY creepier than the person who meets/makes friends with people quickly, imo. |

What do you mean by driving people away from TA? No one ever really leaves! :p
Seriously though, I don't believe any single TA was responsible for more than a rage quit or two. I'd say it's more of a CORe swarm ganging up on a few people, rather than a single attacker that targeted different individuals over the years. |

Yeah I agree.
The C0r is a risky place. Kind of like poking a hornet's nest and being swarmed by bastard gay face hornets.
Entertaining though. :gsmile: |

Yea, except NO NWTA really has, and that is generally how people are in the northwest as a whole. We keep to ourselves. I can say though that if we do meet up we generally form really close friendships, like Idoru and I.
I've met lots of people who are NOT NWTAs though. I've met Boomer and a bunch of Cali TAs at Lovefest/Love Parade.
But yea, NWTAs and people in the northwest in general are not overtly social people. |
