When it comes to "You have no life" I really don't need to put anything better on the table than this:

Happy trails, Juan.
Anyway, mandatory smackdown duties taken care of... We've been having this debate on TA for literally about a decade, and the best response I've ever read is still "If it isn't in you, it isn't coming out of you." Digital mixing technology allows creative opportunities. Good DJs will make the most of them, bad DJs won't. The problem isn't the technology, it's the bad DJs. |

whut?
's getting real :stongue:
to say beatmatching is the least important part of dj'ing is missing the point.
a set, or cd locked in sync by software lacks the personality of a live turntable mix. it just does.
this is apparent in modern mix cds - it's like one sound that simply morphs into different sounds throughout its span.
i don't need to hear mistakes, but it is also painfully apparent when the music has churned through software. |

Right an attack at me from my personal life that you found in the core where you spend half of your time., oh no, yeah you win system j congratulations.
Just like most of your mixed cds, my little cuzin can come up with better mixes than you when it comes to a warped mixes, exactly what you call skill.
Yeah i'm insanely in love with some one who showed to one of my gigs, who gives a . |

That's weird, because a week ago you bumped one of my mixes from a year back to say this:

I'm stilllllllll listening to this mix in my car. I do have a alot of warm tracks ranging from dif genres but all in all ima sucker for artistry and this mix just nails it still. Reminds me of the underground djs that i have luckily seen in my youth way back (vinyl days) no pun. Flow is perfect, the trannies (transitions) never miss a solid beat. |

You accused me of "having no life" for kicking your ass in this thread and now you're complaining about attacks on your personal life? Just shut the up and take defeat Juan, this is embarrassing. |

You take defeat, your comparing your mixes with the rest of the idiots in the dj promotion thread LOL. There's hardly any good around. You're just mediocre to me. |

You do realise that most of those old mix CDs you make threads about were all done in ProTools, right? All the Northern Exposure CDs, for example, or that Global Underground mix by Dave Seaman you deemed something like the best trance mix of all time. You linked to the disc that opened with an obvious computer edit of Pete Lazonby - Sacred Cycles. The majority of mix CDs have been digitally mixed since the early '90s. I've got articles in old music magazines discussing it. |

Thanks. I'm glad my mediocrity has remained on your car stereo for so long. The biggest irony in all this is this comment you made on one of my mixes:

Yeah I really enjoyed part three. Great tracks and well mixed J. I don't know how to mix ambient at all. i wish i could find a tutorial some where rather than just blending in keyed tunes. Anway yeah man thanks for sharing. Looking forward to your next mix. |
So the thing you find hardest to mix doesn't even involve beatmatching at all. I guess sometimes good mixing is about more than just lining up beats, and that cue points, track structure, sounds, vibes and keys might also be important, eh? But what the do I know, right?

Very apt, given the number of feeble arguments I'm terminating in this thread. |

Yeah when you warp a tune and place the whole thing in ableton you can pick whichever spot you want to start a transition, climax to climax, outro intro, intro outro. You can see the whole waveform in your face. (where the drums begin and stop) Now with some mixed in key and some of the right effects hmm who knows, lets not go there. |
But then still, that's in theory, like in a live mix, track selection is most important. Do all DJ's have the same skills in hearing what can be mixed best or sounds totally surprisingly cool?
Like in that 90's mix, who would mix Corona - The Rhythm Of The Night into Faithless - Salva Mea and Chicane - Offshore (Original Mix) into
2 Unlimited - Tribal Dance? |

Nope, yours gets played the least LOL.
For me it depends when it comes to electronic music, sometimes things will be so far outta key than only 10 second tranny (transition) is useable. Sometimes I'll have tunes drum warped for 3 mins and some times just pads and key with proper structure, it depends on the concept being played at the givin time. I learned though error and process or how ever its said.
All i was interested was another version of doing things, so don't think your any good. |
