Maceo Plex Tickets sell out in a DAY! (pg. 4)

we were complaining back when footwork had no tickets and now coda for selling out tickets too fast loll. 20$ should be standard. the guys who charge more should earn it, not just cuz they're trending on RA.
I'm starting to wonder, with all these sell out shows recently have some of the neon kids converted ? also if these shows sell out could the promoters possibly work something to move to a larger venue ? |

we do need a larger venue for some of these bigger djs...
I remember paying a lot more for guv events... especially the larger events... but than again for $60, guv was a whole lot of club for that price and coda is as how I said it in the past, kind of boring on the inside...
what bothers me is its almost like the djs I wanna see come in swarms... like I wanna see Martinez bros, skream, maceo and solomun and there all back 2 back... |

It's worse than a concert venue. At least at a concert venue, if you have tix, you're guaranteed to get in whereas at Coda you might not even get in even with tix and won't even get a refund for them either if they don't let you in.
I love Maceo Plex but this headache isn't worth it. |

Hey Guys
Just so you know both Solomun and Maceo have 400 tickets each left
at the door. You will get in if you come before 11:30 I would say.
Trust me if it was my way I would not even sell 1 ticket and we would do it like old footwork.
We have to sell tickets becuase that is how it works now.
Tickets are for the few Die hard fans that want to secure a spot.
And yes Noobie Q that gurantee's entry.
Its very simple why we do not sell more then 200 tickets now in advance for big shows.
Its because people who buy tickets all show up at the same time...
and that time is 12:30 and it s up the door and screws up
the entry to the club...no no club can process that many people
in a half an hour window.
Not only that we have to hold the door capacity for the ticket holders and that means if we sell out the advance tickets no one is in the club before 12:30 and that hurts the vibe and the momentum
of the night..
Its that simple....think about it. |

First off, it's Nobbie Q. I have supported your events at Coda and elsewhere and deserve more respect as a customer.
I'm just trying to tell everyone the truth about about this venue because I care about this scene and the artists involved in it and it's complete BS what you guys do in ruining it.
Why is there some artificially imposed "half hour window" from 12:30-1 to begin with? I would think ticket holders would be relaxed and would actually enter the club at various points during the night, not all at once at 12:30. Even if they did all arrive at 12:30, why not extend the 'window' to enter then so you don't have to process them all by 1 AM?
You can say how you're trying to get momentum at the right time for the club, which explains the 'window' but I think it's rather you want ticket holders to show up early so they have more time before last call to buy drinks. Which is why you guys oversell at the door for the people who are there without tix, because they're most likely there earlier, hence a higher chance of them buying more drinks at the bar. And who loses out? Ticket holders who have to wait for no reason outside Coda and who might not even get in. Tikcet holders who have bought their cover well in advance and giving you a better gauge of how much interest there is in the night, thereby helping you plan your events better.
Now I dunno if things have changed, and maybe they have. I do see a lot of positive things about the lineup situation at Coda. I have had good experiences in terms of the lineup situation there, but I dunno what would have happened if I came past 1 AM on those nights. There have been negative reviews as well, and I'm still strongly wary about you guys, especially since the same nonsense was happening at Footwork. I've personally had friends who couldn't get into Sasha even with tix and they didn't get a refund, so you guys ripped them off and others most likely.
Does anyone have reports of this night?

I buy tickets in advance to all Coda events I am attending. I arrive between 11 and 11:30 and get in quickly without any issue. The people working the door are usually very pleasant.
If you buy tickets in advance, it is most likely because you are looking forward to seeing that DJ. Right? Why would you show up after 1 am for a party you are looking forward to? Don't you want to get there a little before the headlining DJ starts?
Just arrive early and problem solved. |

Yes, only that's not at all how it is nor how it was. We got in line at 10:00 pm! and left the line at 12:30 a.m. Where were these 400 tickets? Ticket holders did not swarm the line, but were arriving linearly throughout the night.
I've been going to parties for the better part of the last 15 years. I've never seen such clusters as Richie Hawtin a few weeks back and now this. What's the point of holding up these lines? If you have the space, let people in. If you don't, than state it as such.
Complete and utter waste of time.
I've been in lines 10 times the size in Miami/Ibiza and was inside the club in under 15 minutes without having tickets every time.
This city is beyond ridiculous. |
