So all you peeps thinking about going next year should probably get on top of your accommodations. Rooms are already being booked up at much higher rates.
I would also suggest calling the places you're considering staying at instead of trying to book online - quite a few places will show no availability online, but will happily give you a reservation for the same dates over the phone.
Good luck getting a room for under 200 bucks a night. |

You're right, they're all pretty pricey. I reserved Hilton Garden for $223 a night.
I'm hoping to find a better deal,but I didn't want to chance it. |

Doubletree won't have rooms available until the last week of this month (June). Reaalllly hope they, too, won't have succumbed to the Movement Madness.
The woman I spoke to on the phone when making a reservation at the Atheneum said it wasn't likely to get a room for under 200 bucks "For that event on that weekend, everyone is wise to that event now (obviously she was referring to Movement)," and she said she worked at a few hotels downtown.
In general it seems lots of the usual hotels are being reserved now about their availability. We were able to get a room the week right after the festival last year and now all the same places are still unavailable.
There ARE many places I didn't even bother with, but that's because I'm too old to be ing around with my sleep and comfort. The Atheneum is a pretty nice spot, and for only 20-25 bucks more than the Hilton Garden Inn it's a much nicer room. I booked a double queen suite for a base price of 225 USD before tax. That's for 2 guests. Extra guests are 20 bucks a person per night - and that's because they are an all suite hotel and they've have issues in the past with people showing up with more guests than specified in the reservation and then not being able to accommodate them (if you say you are just two people, they will automatically put you in a King bed suite).
So yeah. At least if nothing else pans out, we got a really nice room at an acceptable rate. I mean wtf else can we do? I refuse to stay in a mediocre hotel just because it saves me money that I won't miss anyway. |

Marriott now has rooms available at 229/night for a King or two doubles, regular rate 239/night. 229/night is if you have a Friday or Saturday night stay. |
