The first time I ever saw PvD was on May 6th, 2001 at Columbiahalle in Berlin... That place was incredible... nothing here in New York could ever compare... cheap tickets... cheap drinks.. great crowd... great sound... long set... my friends and I found a Vandit wristband too and alternated using it in order to go backstage and meet paul... wow... that night was unbelievalbe... such a different atmosphere over there.. so good...

Greg, you have to wear the old hawaian shirt to PVD. No going urban this time around. We want the old party animal Greg back. Not the running, studying wall hugger.

my first pvd experience:

april 13, 2001 TWILO

haha
hmm, funny story. i met these guys from rochester in toronto april 11, 2001 waiting in line for max graham/oakenfold at tonic. started talking to them cause they were from rochester.;) one of the guys had been to homelands, ibiza, etc. and his fave dj was paul van dyk. well, in less then 10 minutes they offered me a ride to nyc to see paul at twilo on friday. being the nutty girl i am, i took them up on their offer. we're still great friends till this day. hopefully, keval will be at roxy...

anyways, get in line at twilo around hmm...11:30. we only waited for an hour. not too bad. and speaking of PROFESSIONAL LINE CUTTERS, i think Phazon (Dennis) may be one. ;) haha. he cut the line right in front (maybe behind) me and my friends.

paul hit the decks around 2:30 and i was mesmerized. stood on the dance floor in the same spot for 5 hours just watching him and dancing. i wasn't really familiar with his tracks or anything like that, but i enjoyed it just the same. people say it was really crowded that night, but i remember having lots of room. it was cool because the energy from the crowd was amazing, twilo was the best!! i made so many random friends that night. it was such an amazing experience, i had been to twilo and other clubs, saw other djs, but there was just something about paul. i was hooked.

unfortunately one of the guys in our group got ill, and we had to leave early at 7:30. when we were walking out of the club, paul dropped "we are alive" and i will never forget being sooo upset i didn't experience it in the club that night.

i have now seen paul 9 times, and each time i get as excited as the first. i can't wait for 10/31 and 11/1. OMG. anyone who has spoken to me lately knows how excited i am right now!!:D

my tenth time seeing paul...10/31/02 Avalon, Boston.

and many many more to come:D:D:D

I was there that night also. I remember Luis Diaz opening with a cool remix of the American Beauty song. When Paul didn’t come on at 2 I freaked. LOL (I’m paranoid about everything) I thought he canceled or something. I was in the back left of the club and I couldn’t see if it was Paul or Luis Djing . I realized it was paul when about 10000people started screaming at the same time;)
