dettmann has the chance to throw down something great but it all depends on when he comes on. sasha is unpredictable. was willing to skip this party but dettmann was booked.
on a side note on the ferry back kids be dropping edm on portable speakers. nahhhhhhhhhhh |

I have to say the location sucksssss big time... the old location on Olympic island was better as it was right on the water... I was up front for 85% of the event... so the sound was decently loud...
I enjoyed pan pot surprisingly... Lawler was meh... troxler and the boys were decent... a few proper tunes were dropped...
my one buddy made a comment which I do agree, saying he would rather here more house than tech at an out door event... I kind of agree more "summery" tunes would be better imo...
does any body like the stage set up? I thought it was getting a bit to big, way more festival style... and whats the deal with the booze prices I swear shots last year were like 6 and beers were 7... I hate that they raised the prices...
yeah I skipped summer daze last year... I think i'll deff go this year, beach club looks pretty dope as well... eric morillo at cabana could be worth braving that crowd lol
overall, a new crappy location, same ol' problems exist... for $50 its not to bad... compared to $40 for a coda/nest event...

You know I thought it was decent. Having been at Tenaglia all morning , both of us were absolutely spent on the island and pretty much had to force ourselves to get up and dance for a bit and enjoy the afternoon.
I didn't mind the new location but the old one was definitely better. Sound as well did sound muffled at spots however got better as we moved up to dance closer to the front.
I actually thought the DJ's were terrific for the most part and if not for anything, they kept the party interesting. I was miles away from the stage and was disappointed to hear that Lee Burridge wasn't actually in attendance. Pan Pot was absolutely brilliant especially over the first 3/4 of their set. Lawler was ok playing some great tracks interspersed with some dull tech house which has become his staple of late. Do just enough to peak my interest and then let it slide....The stars for me were easily Tuskgee and its too bad we left halfway through their set. Was loving the energy however knowing the crowd there and the potential ferry situation on the way back along with our exhaustion taking over was reason enough to get the hell out of dodge. Very glad we did in the end.
I don't know if we'll be back this summer. Labour Day if anything. Definitely NOT doing anything before as the one thing clear is that we just don't have the legs for it anymore.
No comments on the drink prices or food trucks...that was all expected for me. Its not cheap running an event like this.... |
