where were you when you first heard deadmau5?

back in 2007 dance music was relatively fresh to me
its like i was going against the grain and had found my escape from reality,
shortly after deadmau5 emerged on the scene , out of nowhere
and it was the first time i sort of saw an artist rise like that
everybody was playing him from digweed/sasha to carl cox to armin van buuren
and despite whatever you think of him now, he did receive a lot of love on ta from almost everyone.
so where were you in your life ? |

"I Remember" in 2009, was huge on mainstream radio. To me it was "summer of trance" - I got into the genre, suddenly my (then) favourite radio playlisted Richard Durand, Dash Berlin, John O'Callaghan, Armin van Buuren, etc.... deadmau5 was actually "progressive house" but I didn't really see difference.
90% of the stuff he puts out is trash by which he only tries to piss off haters (I guess), but some of his songs I still really like. |

| Like most people who were registered on TA in 2007, here. Funny to think that Faxing Berlin was once considered a "massive" tune for him. It's not even mentioned on his Wikipedia biog now. |
