Markus schulz solo sets....

I know for a while now Markus has had his fair share of critiques for his current style of music, but after his solo set this past Saturday at Avalon, I wondered if there are anymore DJs out there that can truly deliver the spectrum of music that he delivers during his long solo sets?

I mean, it went from dark/progressive, to big room bangers, some live performance, some mainstream songs, to an all out frenzy followed by techno/afterhours stuff then closing it off with classics.

If your not a Markus Schulz fan for his 2-3 hr sets, i'm sure there would be some aspect of his 12 hour solo set that you would enjoy.

Pretty impressive if you tell me, and the club was still pretty full at 8 AM when i left so a true testament to his solo sets.

Danny T banged out a 12 hr set here in NYC which ranged from groovy disco to house to some of the darkest and twisted techno ive ever heard and from what I heard Schulz and him were to play b2b but Schulz left after one song cuz couldn't hang (wasn't there read it in WMC thread).

i'm not saying markus is the only DJ that does long sets, but saying when it comes to being a 'trance' DJ, there aren't too many that can take you across so many genres.

We came out for this from Florida. Was so much fun. He played everything from moody prog stuff early, beautiful trance in middle, techy later and in after hours was even playing Maceo Plex stuff.

Insane

Menno De Jong solo sets > Markus solo sets....

Markus is one of my fav DJs but Menno's programming when it comes to marathon sets is just on another level...

Menno hits it on sooo many levels

I prefer to just see the techno guys now a days. Almost all of them can play really long sets and you don't have to deal with those cringe-worthy "mainstage" songs or portions that warrant an automatic water break.

But If I must nominate someone with ties to trance than Max Graham, he gives you all the good genres with none of the cheese.

John 00 Fleming OTC sets > Markus Solo set

i thought this past Markus solo set was his worst OTC.
that big room new world punx stuff from 2-5am was just unbearable.
Even during the supposedly rabbit hole time he still throws in 1-2 mainstream song more of a tech remix to ruin the flow.

Yeah I agree, I thought his NYE three years ago was a lot better. It was still fun, haven't jumped around like that in awhile hahah. I do miss the old Markus though.

We flew all the way to LA for 12 hours in club that was filled with some of the hottest trance chicks I have ever seen. I loved the vibe, music and the club. Sometimes its a combination of everything that makes the night. You can't deny that Markus open to close nights are a beautiful event.
