There is a faction of people who are sick of the really poor quality pop culture that is shoved down throats by the media. The Kardashians, selfie culture, basically most things that end up on the billbaord top 100 to be honest. The "elitist" crowd are usually the most passionate and maybe are just trying to latch on to something slightly more "intellectual" or just better quality art. |
Yea, I get that, too. |

Berghain says no to people all the time.
I hated that policy at first, but I totally get it now. |
So what I'm getting is it's all bull now. Underground dance music doesn't want anyone to come in that doesn't know all the history but you gotta first forget about that everyone is welcome bit, don't wear any colors and make sure you don't dance on the dance floor. Got it.
That sounds dumb as . |

Someone please let Seth know this is a lie.
“Underground dance is all about the inclusion of different cultures, people of different sexual preferences and so forth,” Troxler said at Amsterdam Dance Event |

See, that's why using Paris in this debate is nonsensical.
She doesn't represent the average person lingering into the scene who doesn't know the history and all that.
If she's there strictly to party, I have no problem. Get on the dance floor like everyone else and have fun. But if it's a ploy and there are profits involved, that. I'm totally against someone of her public statue capitalizing off an appearance because it's the cool thing to do. |

Everyone also forgets those were the couple years Ibiza went way more commercial (i was there and saw it everywhere) from the Calvin Harris, Diplo, Skrillex Guetta, etc all the edm names were dominating the venues on majority of nights. |
Ibiza STILL has gone super commercial. And that's where a lot of the angst stems from. |

there are less and less people that go to parties to have a good time and actually dance on the floor.
For many shows that I've been to, both here in the U.S. as well as overseas, it seems that there is always a "legion" of elitist snobs. These legions act too-cool-for-school, will poke fun at other people actually dancing, and generally radiate a terrible vibe to the rest of the club. I don't really understand why they're there in the first place. If you are passionate about the music, one would think that would be reflected in your physical actions.
I actually think a LOT of people in this scene use the scene as a crutch for their social shortcomings in other aspects of their life. They act holier-than-thou because this is the only aspect of their social life they can "excel" (through their elitist, snobbish actions).
I might be totally off base but this is how I've seen things. |

She was there with her boyfriend (self proclaimed techno head) and her Traktor manager, Endo, you know that guy who helps all the large djs setting up their traktor rigs, the guy that setup Nicole's rig that day. |

Then blame the club owners, blame the island. How is that any artists fault? The club owners are the ones that pay for the parties and reap the profits. Blaming the artists for being asked to play for hundreds of thousands of dollars is absolutely insane. |

I think I just may never do Ibiza. Keep hearing negative things about it. Fine with me, there's so many other amazing places to explore and good parties to attend.
And wouldn't mind doing Amsterdam again! |

This is exactly what I'm getting at.
I honestly never thought I would see a day where people bitch about people shuffling (which is a form of dance weather you like it or not) but guess where they are doing this, OMG on the dancefloor. |

Ibiza is great and this season is stronger than ever besides the police shut downs but there's so many great parties, villas, afters and the damn sceneary.
