Then blame the club owners, blame the island. How is that any artists fault? The club owners are the ones that pay for the parties and reap the profits. Blaming the artists for being asked to play for hundreds of thousands of dollars is absolutely insane. |
Yea, this is where I agree. Blame the clubs. And if people don't like it, boycott them.
You want to take a stand, take it. Don't use social media as a crutch to act like you're taking part in techno activism, lol.
I value my dollar way too much to visit Ibiza right now. It's just not worth it in my eyes considering the costs and the other destinations around the world.
But hey, that's me. |

Yeah, I don't get the "angst" either. It's analogous to wealthy fans of sports teams that sit in their luxury suites or very close-to-action seats and complain about the money the players make. Well no , Sherlock, you're just another contributor to their excessive contracts.
People going to Ibiza, shelling out $50-$100 covers, $20 single liquor drinks, $8 Red Bulls, etc, getting mad at how the island has become "commercial." Don't go then smart one. There are so many other clubs and festivals around the world. |

That's a really good point too. Reason why I won't do Ultra, Ezoo, Tomorrowworld anymore, I don't think the experiences are worth what they are charging. This is also why Croatia is probably heating up so much right now too. But I really want to go back to Ibiza again its just such a beautiful location. |

I honestly never thought I would see a day where people bitch about people shuffling (which is a form of dance weather you like it or not) but guess where they are doing this, OMG on the dancefloor. |
Yes yes yes thank you! On the NYC forum, all the people bitch on the event threads about how people are "shuffling" and not respecting their personal space. You mean people are actually...gasp...dancing to the music? If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. This music is meant to move peoples' bodies. Period. If I'm not feeling up to it for a bit I take a break and hit the bar up and maybe find a seat for a little bit and socialize with friends.
No, let's stand there and bob our heads and act like we're too good to dance. |

Let me adjust that for you. 50 to 100 Euro, 20 Euro single liquor, 13 euro beer, 10 euro water. The prices are ing stupid. I wouldn't mind going back to the island during off season to be honest.
but if the foam & diamond party is back(which i don't know if it is)that means the party did well but who are we to sit here and say that music sucks when millions of people worldwide enjoy? That's the great thing about any art, it's SUBJECTIVE and people support what they like with their money. |

Have you been out in NYC? The clubs are super super crowded and it becomes a personal space/lack of respect issue pretty quickly with the dance circles taking up precious real estate. But yes there are lots of ty beard stroking, k rocked, snobbish hipsters for sure who are too cool to smile or dance and I also hate that. |

People who complain about personal space need a big glass of shut the up. Imagine if attendees at Paradise Garage bitched about dancing on a dance floor. Personal Space? In that day these people were doing full on couples dances in the middle of the floor. |

I've been out in NYC plenty. Those people bitching are the ones standing in the middle of the dance floor not moving and then the tiniest bump and they are pissed at you trying to fight. Why can't their be dance circles? There were in the 90s, nobody bitched about those, they were actually welcomed. |

Eh I disagree with you there. When its full on contact no breathing room like the floor of output or pacha get frequently I enjoy the experience much much less and would rather go somewhere else and spend my money on a more enjoyable party. |

complaining about dancing on the dance floor is the equivalent of sitting down in a chair when there isn't a enough chairs for everyone. |

Again how is this an attendees fault? They went out, paid their entry, paid for their drinks to have a night out dancing. That's what they do.
Again blame the venue for overcrowding, they are the decision makers on how many people are inside. |

You really don't seem to want to even think there may be some merit in the other side of these arguements do you? When there is barrrrely enough room to fit all of the people on a super crowded sweaty dance floor, and a huge 15 foot dance circle is cleared out with people boxing everyone else out Dennis Rodman style, so a couple people can shuffle or take turns breakdancing in the middle. That is disrespectful. That happens frequently. |
