I always find myself listening to old vinyls of Progressive Trance and House, but never the new stuff. I just find it so formulaic, minimalist and flat out boring. The progressive stuff is deep, energetic and takes you places and you still want to dance to it! What the happened to this sound? I can't seem to figure it out. I know this has probably been discussed to death, but I want to speculate this further.

Haha, yeah I wasn't much a fan either, got way too formulaic and uninspired quickly.
If you do a Progressive House Beatport search you should have no problem hunting the sound down, sort of on an upswing with producers. You got to think there were listeners, now producers wanting to recreate it.

I still enjoy a bit of mid naughties McProg - it takes me back to a time that I could hear half decent trance (which to me was amazing, back then) in massive spectacular night clubs in Ibiza; halcyon days. It might not be as good as the prog from the 90s and early naughties but it was definitely still credible when done well.

I would have thought even the prog chin strokers could get a reasonable kick out of this track list

That track has always been a favorite of mine. As far as D:Fuse goes, not sure if he has any other tracks i like or even know of. But Dekay usually delivers
