Not really , what is so ridiculous about it? I have many asian friends whom are heavily influenced by hip hop culture.

If your argument is cultural appropriation, which is very real thing , it doesnt apply much in this case.

This is the most true statement in this thread.

And everyone can off with the whole hip hop culture / product of environment argument.

You grew up with asian family and asian friends. The vast majority of your friends are probably asian. You chose your personal culture over your traditional culture. and that's fine - anyone can be what they want to be, but let's not bull that it wasn't a choice you made and continue to pursue.

I grew up as virtually the minority in my school, being a white kid actually from that ty part part of London. I didn't start pumping out bangra lyrics or speaking somali or adopting a Jamaican accent but I should have, given my surroundings and social environment.

It's not like you grew up in Red Hook. Probably Park Slope lol.

(Cue: you don't ing know me blah blah blah.)

All of us at one time threw around some hip hop lingo when we're drunk or went through a phase where we're trying to be cool. Most of us grow out of it seems like he's stuck in that insecure phase. You can tell he is heavily invested that makes it all the more laugh or should I say cringe worthy.

He should post a video of himself.

You mean sort of like your penchant to act like a caricature of hip hop terms made popular by big music labels?
