I don't need no visuals just good music.. That said I wonder how modeselektor will be. Fan of 50 weapons and have never caught them live

As of now it looks like I'm going solo but have no ride, have a hotel though if someone might want to trade. Two beds and a separate couch TV area. Rules = you have to listen to techno especially Detroit. Robert hood, drexciya heavy playlists.

And yea it was a hazard down there last year. The ramp was the worst part. It was less crowded by the front but hard to get there. The bathrooms there were flooded day 2 and 3.. With piss water

I'm tempted! I have never been to the afterparties - I have no interest in going to the festival after last year's bull.

Please keep me in mind for plan b, if no one goes with you! Yes I have a car.

Yeah, besides Will Call and the lineups, thought it was all honky dory! You know there will be no issues with Will Call this year, plus they're mailing all VIP.

tbh i had no issues with any lines. only complaints were the crappy washrooms and that ramp.

whats the discount on drinks? last year last day i couldn't stomach beer and mixed drinks were bank busters

The line fiasco was , but I was getting constant updates, so I just stayed in my room till it was over, or when they finally opened up the VIP entrance. I wasn't going to wait in the heat in that travesty of a line and miss who I wanted to see anyways. Still upset about missing KiNK.

VIP? It's not much, it's like a dollar off, but reasonably short lines, and more selection for liqours and drink combos. But they are poured Detroit style, so basically a double, and if you ask for a double, they give you a glass of vodka with your mix on the side.

I know VIP seems expensive, double the GA entry, and usually I'm not a VIP kinda douche, but that extra money is totes worth it for me for this festival for so many reasons.

i got vip for the first digital dreams and used it only for the bathrooms lol. 300 is a lot and all but it doesn't seem unreasonable for a quality festival like movement. for certain acts or festivals i don't mind shelling out that extra money. the most expensive thing for me is getting new t shirts, shoes, building up my music collection before the festival. the bunch of shows that always coincidentally happen before too.. last year hernan was the day before movement and i made it, and it was dope.

Raving at 35 years old, VIP is 100% worth every penny, lol.

you two do the best pitch on why one should get VIP over GA.

*FLASHBACK ALERT* i remember day 2 right when ben klock was coming on i needed a breather so i went to get food. i got this fried food truck smorgasbord of food, consisting of a burger, fries, fried chicken on a stick (18 USD) and hot dog. i tried to take a nap on the grass after it but i had to go back to the hotel. i puked it out and took a nap.my friend got back after it ended and tried to wake me up to go to the hood afterparty and i told him to off and let me sleep. he played some drexciya spheres and got my ass to the robert hood after party

Especially if you can score VIP during first wave early birds.

VIP Perks for me:

1. Discounted rooms at the Westin (And being my 5th time there for DEMF, they hook me up with free parking, wifi, bigger room, etc) and I reserve it pretty much when I buy early birds. These savings alone, and being able to secure your room so far in advance with no issue cover the extra cost of VIP in my opinion.

2. Seperate entrance to the festival by Cobo, it's a straight shot walk from my hotel and it's super easy to walk in. Less searches and annoying bag checks ;)

3. Bathrooms, it's soo worth it

4. Jennypie is right, we're getting old, and it's nice to chill out in VIP for a bit and have a sitdown, lie on the grass, enjoy a drink in the shade of a tree and still have a pretty good vantage point of themain stage and hear the music clearly. (never tried out the VIP areas at the other stages).

5. You get free , tshirts, bags, etc...

6. Drinks are kick ass strong, and more variety.

I used to go over early when the exchange rate was better and pretty much do all my Summer clothes shopping because of the Memorial Day sales and take advantage of the 72 hours in Michigan for duty.

Now, I'm going to go drop $100 in Stiches or something and buy 3 full disposable raving outfits, because my clothes get destroyed at DEMF and the afterparties. Not to mention all that I lose. No cigarette burns, rank smelling rave uniforms, regretting bringing a hoodie to the after party, just chuck it!
