Coins go in pocket, notes go in wallet. Always.

Do you really keep many receipts in your back pocket, or any pocket, that it gets confusing?

I think what he's saying if you reach into your wallet plastic bills feel like receipts.
Plastic money is ty unless you don't know better.

Day 2 in MTL: eat crepes, go to biosphere

When I'm shopping I shove all the byproducts of a transaction (change, receipt) into my back pocket, to be dealt with when I sit down somewhere. But if I then buy something else, I might reach into said pocket for a note. This system worked flawlessly until very recently.

Job Jobse was good last night. He never kicked it into 5th gear like I had wanted, but he played well.

Nice intimate venue, cordial crowd - all around pleasant night. It's odd only clubbing for only three/four hours though lol.

Oh, I forgot to mention I was prepping for a 5k this morning. I did well! New PR :D

That looks fun :)

I wish I could run and do similar things, but my left foot is a bit useless for high-impact activities because of a neuroma :(

This would drive me nuts in Japan when I went there in 2010/2011. I've been using my debit card for what's probably a decade now, and I couldn't get used to counting all those pieces of paper in my hands.

Long weekend starting yesterday (hooray for Independence Day!), decided to find out who Jack Bauer is and binge watched 24 with my dad. I like the parallel story lines, but we like Designated Survivor much better.

Why don't more people talk about Designated Survivor anyway? It's like Homeland meets Borgen, and a bit saccharine at times, but I like the idealism. Sometimes it makes me so proud to be American I forget I'm not :p

Designated Survivor is a guilty pleasure but it's more like Nikita crossed with 24. It's a little cheesey at times which is why I don't think it gets as much critical love but it's one of the highest watched shows in the US right now.

I loved 24. It gets real good in the middle seasons, especially 3-5, but - the last couple were a bit meh.

Yeah ok, fair enough. I would have thought paper money would feel more like a receipt than plastic does, but then again it's been a very long time since I've handled paper money.

For some reason I'm super anal about putting notes back into my wallet immediately. Worse, they have to be in the correct order (smallest denomination at the front, largest at the back) otherwise it's all just ing wrong and it bugs the out of me :stongue:

I'm beating a dead horse but money is actually hemp that has a texture. Receipts are coated paper making them smooth like plastic. It probably comes down to that people are resistant to change (pun unintended). Hope that makes cents (intended).

random MTL observation: They still have pay phone booths! Although I didn't see anyone using them. There are no big stores or fat people maybe there is a correlation.

Tomorrow I will tackle Poutaine.

I actually just retrieved a receipt and a fiver from my wallet to test this. To me they feel pretty different. The note feels stiffer ( :gsmile: ) than the receipt does. I suppose if I was feeling around in my pocket though, that might be more difficult to determine.

It's been about 16 years since I lived in the UK and had paper/hemp/whatever-they-use-in-the-UK money in my hand, so I can't remember the feel of it so well.
