Sì! Non è mica difficile se parli già il francese e lo spagnolo. ;-)

At least you aren't like most of these basic jamooks.

Had to check Google Translate. Never did get into Mandarin. I feel like I could learn three more European languages in the time it would take me to get even somewhat fluent in Chinese.

It's retarded (writing system). I gave up after HSK 4 and ended up learning more from having a Chinese kid. We could share books and rote learn together via autistic screeching in unison at the TV . What sucks about mandarin is no one speaks like the books (not to mention dialects and accents/regional slang). You actually realize you are speaking like a retard to them once you give up gay class chinese and go for real talk. Loose lipped, foul mouthed taxi drivers will get you much further into the type of colloquialisms and euphemisms that turn what looks like a simple parlour trick into level 888 white monkey magic. No good. Wife's kidneys have shut down, so she will likely be in the ER before long.

Woof, heavy.

She can't seem to catch a break. I wish I could help her. Sitting around powerless with your thumb up your ass is pretty demoralizing. I hope she does not require dialysis. I honestly think she would let herself die before she'd go through dialysis...and that is her choice to make. Her girls would lost w/out her, though. I helped make it possible, along the way, to raise them, but she did all the "real" parenting in my book.

Why wouldn't she want dialysis? Sincere question.

I did not ask her, specifically, for details. I don't know if she simply objects to it, personally, or if perhaps during her 20+ years of nursing she has seen enough of it to shy away from it. I did not press her on it, and I simply let the discussion fizzle out with, "I understand and I respect whatever decision you make. I love you." I truly hope dialysis is not necessary. Hell, I hope she doesn't even have to go to the ER. But she is retaining fluid something fierce. All liquids are inbound, not outbound. :(
