The synaesthesia condition

Is there anyone in the TA forums who "suffer" from this condition? Synaesthesia is where colours, words, and/or sounds become confused with the mind. For example, when I listen to the main melody of Svenson and Gielens Twisted, the first thing that pops into my head is yellow-orange/brown coloured wavy-like patterns that interweave each other with the melody's phrasing. Sort of like abstract images flashing into my mind. And of course, it happens all the time with other tracks/type of music - different songs/tracks would have different abstract colours. And to top it off, trance would hit me hard the most! :eyes:
I guess i was born with this, and would like to see if anyone else have the same expriences, I, for one, am the only person that I know, who has this. hehehe So yeah, was wondering what you tranceaddicts feel/exprience/see in your mind when you listen to trance? And if there are any Synaesthesian's in here, try to describe your abstract images. |

| It happens to me when I'm listening to melodic/uplifting/epic trance, and usually during the uplift of a track. I begin to see images, either abstract, like colours and moving shapes, or just regular images, like an image of the sky or the sea. Each time it is a different image, even if the track is the same. I also get a numb feeling in my brain that I can't describe. But it feels really nice! :) I'm not sure whether it is synaesthesia or not though. |

synaesthesia is one condition i wish i had.
i rarely see anything at all, even when hard drugs are applied liberally. i think some people are just predisposed to it - lucky bastards. although i agree that certain songs just give off the aura of a color, feeling or emotion.
for example the song im currently listening to: Chicane - Autumn Tactics(Chicanes End of Summer Mix). even without the title to this one it gives you that lazy, warm orange glow of a sunset in late summer. and the vocals dont hurt either| |

Hehehe, I think you may be "semi-synaesthesic" if there is such a thing? With the synaesthesia syndrome, i think it is impossible to picture clearly in your head, a regular image. I can never have a FULL true picture in my head when listening to music. hehehe But yeh, expriencing those colours during an uplifting epic breakdown/build-up is absolutely PURE BLISS!!!

Nah I don't think it is that bad, I've been reading some articles on it and they are no symptons that can be damaging both mentally and physically... The field of synaesthesia is still very young @ the moment, and doctors/professors are trying to determine what stimulates the condition. Scientists believe that it may help us understand how the brain functions. ;)

OMFG!!!! hehehe thats some hectic stuff! I get similar images from all S & G / Airscape tracks. Something about the texture of their sythns that gives me an orange feel to it LOL
For another example, For Gouryella's Tenshi's main melody, I see grey-white-ish waves duplicating each other amoung a black-shadow-like background, and I can't bloody explain what the faint strings in the backgound look like, too freakin abstract to say in words! LOL
