George W Bush is an idiot, the world is laughing at him, not just Michael Moore, everyone. He's not done a good job, his speech writer has, and even that is questionable. On a side note, the voting controversy was a ing joke, especially due to the fact that Georges brother Jeb organised it so that 31% of the black population of florida could not vote (knowing 31% were felons), and the black population of florida votes overwhelmingly in favour of the democrats. The co-chairwoman paid $4million to "database technologies" to remove anyone "suspected of being a felon", as I said, similar names and birthdates meant you were a felon. And noone in the US knew about this until the BBC uncovered it!. As you say this also happens in the UK, I mean the press had a field day when the Prime Ministers wife made some enquiries for a friends boyfriend about a visa, unbeknownst to her he was a convicted fraudster, the press went mental, which is mad because she didn't actually do anything. Unlike Jeb Bush's wife, who smuggled $19,000 worth of jewellry into the country, which I believe is a felony, and was still allowed to vote ;)
I have to completely disagree with you on the talented cabinet thing, it's the same bunch of thieves, liars and oil barons that were in office during Bush Seniors time in the oval office.
Who made the stupid rule that a president can only be in office for 8 years? Clinton was a damn fine president, so what if he had fun with a fatty and a cigar? he wasn't going to goto war with Iraq over oil.

The IRA is clearly not a political party.
They are a terrorist organization that has killed and injured many - they even tried to kill my great grandfather once.
And yes, until recently it was legal for them to collect funds in America, it is illegal now. Reason - Irish republican sympathizers in the US Government. Just like the Israeli sympathizers who are stopping America do anything about Israel - when they would happily get involved with other conflicts that really should concern them less.
I can just imagine what your government would do if there was a terrorist group killing people in America and we let them openly and legally raise funds here. |

the reason I keep referring back to the election is because I find it quite funny that America is a country that has a leader who hasn't been elected by the majority of the country, and if it was any other country in the world, the UN, the EU, and hell even America would go ape. Actually all the ministers in Britain are elected, and positions are delegated by the Prime Minister.
Maybe thief was a harsh word to use, but a number of these fine cabinet member you speak of, haven't made their money as legitamately as you or I (well at least I, you could sell smack to kids).

Nothing out of the ordinary, but with mergers this big, the FCC usually questions mergers this size, and often rules against them. Colins son, Michael, was a member of the FCC, and advocated strongly that the merger went through with no questions asked. Michael Powell has since been appointed chairman of the FCC by the big W, and as part of his job, he oversees AOL's instant messaging technology.

Formerly President and CEO of Alcoa, the worlds largest Aluminium manufacturer, before joining Bush's administration.
Alcoa does it's lobbying through a law firm called Vinson and Elkins. Vinson and Elkins was the third largest contributor to Bush's campaign, and by coincidence 'found' a legal loophole allowing Alcoa to dump 60,000 tonnes of sulphur dioxide into texas every year. O'Neill sold his shares in Alcoa, for a whopping $62 million, very slowly, after watching his stock rise 30% in the time he was in office. Since becoming treasury chief, he has stated Social Security and Medicare aren't necessary, perhaps because he recieves an annual pension of $926,000 from Alcoa.

Have to apologise about the Clinton thing though, all we hear about him is how great he is, but most of the good things he did came in the last 2 days of office :stongue: and to see him on the telly does make me go all googly eyed :rolleyes:, but the fact remains that he was likeable, whereas Bush reminds me of the kid noone liked at school, flunked his way through life, and has got by with Daddy giving him handouts (failed oil projects, baseball teams etc... :stongue: )
When you actually make a point, or, shock horror, prove one of mine wrong, feel free to post it, or if you've actually proved me wrong point it out, so I can tell you where you've gone wrong. Until then deal with the fact that you are one of the few countries to have signed the Land Mine mine proposal put forward by the UN, you didn't sign the Kyoto agreement (well played there lads, we all really admire you for being a big bunch of fuel munching s with your SUV's and 5 litre cars), and an International Human Rights agreement about the treatment of children (Cos good ol george loves executing those 16 year olds). That your country plans on spending $1.4 trillion dollars on the pentagon, when it would only cost £1.2 billion dollars to fix every school in the country to the required standards.
