uhh, we actually have had the same policy for venues for Destiny events for 10 years... nothing has changed...
STOP BEING SO SUSPICIOUS! hehe |
Are you sure about that???? lol... Does this ring a bell, "This event will be held in the spacious Better Living Center at Exhibition Place and will feature a crazy production and all the usual amenities and consessions." - A Groove Oddessy NYE 2000/2001, brought to us by DESTINY, liquid adrenaline, and big bud. This was printed on the flyer for that event!!! So i guess you haven't been doing the tba for all your events for the last 10 years or would you guys blame the venue give away for that on BB or LA? lol... You spoiled my fun of the tba venue that year, SHAME ON YOU ALL!!!!! j/k

Here is all you need to know about the location:
It is ing wicked and you will love it!!! Destiny and just about every other rave company out there never has given the location out ahead of time so just relax and let the aticipation begin! Not knowing what to expect is part of the overall rave experience...enjoy it while it is still here!!
hope to see everyone on new years...originalVIBE |
History lesson above!
Anyways, i thought it would be funny to bring that up. I just wanted to let you guys know that the tba thing is ok with me still, but for some occasions you should release the venue just so ppl can regain faith in the scene again. In the last year most of the companies that were still alive have suffered, and a large part is due to venue location. Keep your parties in Toronto, and in an area were it won't get shut down!!!!
I'm looking forward to this party, so let's hope you deliver. |

| ok im looking on some extra info on this because a friend and i are contemplating going. im coming from the states (detroit). if i were to order tickets, how could i pick them up, since im no where near any of those locations obviously. would i pick them up at the event or what? and also since this event goes late, and its about a 5 hour drive for me, should we take the train from windsor to toronto? or should i drive up, and then drive home after the event. we are short on cash and cant afford a hotel. even the train is a little pricy. i mean sure i get the exchange rate but for that ing train its 117$ canadian, like 80$, thats 40$ a person, and i dont know if thats even round trip. any input is appreciated. |

Yes - you are correct - out of all the parties we have done over the past 10 years, a few have posted the venue on the flyer - BUT you should also notice that this was only ever when we did events with someone else... It's always been our thought that the mystery makes things more interesting... its a small thing, but one of the few traditions we have always tried to keep going for our events when we can. If its not a policy you agree with, I apologize, but it is something that we do and we are not forcing you to come to our events... I think that we have proven over the years that we know how to throw an event so some crap venue should be the least of your concerns! We would never do that...
Hopefully that ends this endless conversation! hehe

I may know a place, but it's NYE's the prices are always higher that night. There's one small place that my friends from Rochester always use, but i forgot the name of it... i'll try to get all the info for the place for ya. |

I have no problems with that policy. I only have a problem with it if the party, that is expected to be in Toronto, ends up being out of and no where near the city. I'm confident you guys have a great venue. |

| Malice you make a good point. A person like me, coming from out of town, expects this to be in Toronto, like advertised. If i play to book a hotel in downtown Toronto, and the event ends up (hypothetically speaking) at lets say Viva, I don't really feel like driving 20 min to Markham. Hopefully it's actually in Toronto. And Malice i think i found a hotel, a cheap one, on Dundas street north. a few blocks from yongue street. |

| Yeah, I absolutely don't understand why promoters are often so stubborn that they don't want to tell the venue simply out of principle and some stupid(yeah, STUPID) tradition..... Or are there are other reasons? If so, we'd like to know.. |
