My newest tune and definetly one of my best. This tune has taken me roughly 7 months to complete on and off and with a lot of procrastination, but its finally done, and I need opinions! After I've gotten enough I will go back apply the changes to another FINAL version. I already know a few changes that I'll be making, im curious if they will be repeated in this thread... Anyways, listen, enjoy! :)

you create some amazing melodies there, the only bad thing i can think of is that they seem to drown out the beat and bassline, have a play around with the volumes a bit.
get some hardware too if you can afford it, then you'll be mint no doubt, good luck! |

| DUDE! i thought it was kinda weak at the beggining but i sat though it and was very glad i did and picked up tha vibe of the whole track. This is good man. Especialy from a greek trance superhero from tha scar! ( jus joking man ). Anywho u got some good vibe going and thats what matters. Ive always been into the whole hard beats genre but I still like this kuz it is good. It is progressive so I dont know what to say really other than if u got some philosophical female vocals in the right spots this track would rock tha cazbah! male vocals might fit to but most people dont tend to like that stuff. all depends on who u cater too. Oh and remastering the track might help. i say this cuz i get the fealing that the treble is a little to high and the bass a little low. But thats a matter of pref ( i know i can change it but im just saying ) oh ya and always take out that 1k range on the equalizer. I love that little secret. it gives it a nice sound but kinda negates the effects of stereo sound so try it u might like it. winamp is the fastest way to test that out. Well thats about it. I like this, i think u should keep going and make more. Tha trance scene needs new soud cuz its getting old and overplayed. Latez. :cool: |

dj dave b: Thank you for your comments and suggestions, I think I will put the basslines up a bit in volume, although I tend to be always afraid to put out too much bass, I never seem to put out enough! Damn my speakers... But thanx again! And yes, in time I will get some hardware, but in the meantime I'm learning as much as I cna on the software I've got :)
Mental Exodus: Thank you extrmely for your in depth response, it is very much appreciated! I dunno if I'd add vocals to this track, becuase it meet steer towards chees if not done properly... but it might not hurt to get a one word sample here n there for atmosphere.. I might give it a try... And about the 1k range on the equalizer, I'll give it a go, basically you want me to eliminate all sounds in the 1k range of the tune? I can do that in the mastering process I guess, I'll see how it sounds... and I know what you mean about the trance scene needing new sounds n such, I try to be original without trying to be original, if that makes any sense whatsoever.. lol

ive not dl'd the track yet (56k slut, as dave would put it) its on the way :)
but..
tips :)
when u produce, what sound system do u use? it needs to be good, otherwise when u play it on good systems it will sound TOTALLY different... the bass will always come out more on larger systems, so therefore if u make it on a larger system u know ur levels are correct :) u can spend forever fiddling with ur bass on an average system... then when u finally get the right amount of bass and u then take it somewhere with meaty speakers, it just shakes the place too much hehe..
also, never use headfones... their bass output is bugger all compared to ur average loudspeaker, so if it sounds bassy in the headfones, it will often sound tinny on the speakers.

Yea, this is so correct for me!
I mostly do stuff with headphones (I dont wanna scare my family with my non-succesful sounds tries),.... and then on the speakers it sounds kinda poo :p ...
but you realy mean, that I should stop doing stuff with headphones? |

| Well i agree with the wohle headphones thingy. HOwever this is asuming your headphones arent very very good. If u have really good headphones, and i mean really good good phones. Its not an issue. In fact its the opposite as u need a very crisp and clear sounding set of speakers to match tha sound produced by the phones. Thats how my system works anywho. Oh ya Boy Trance. U can see what I mean with the whole 1k thingy if u simply runwinamp and cut tha 1k range on the equalizer by at least half. Some people really like the deep sound it brings. But whatever its all about prefrence. :toocool: |

yeah but to get that kind of quality out of headfones its at least £100 a throw :)
if u want optimum sounds, ditch the headfones and get the best speakers u can muster :) who cares if it scares the family... should see my mothers face sometimes... |
