| This is pretty good. I'd use more uplifting synths on it. Something like Flutlicht uses? It sure would be more uplifting... |

But I wait until I have enough emotional inspiration (whethere it be extreme hapiness, love, anger or extreme sadness), smoke a joint, and produce away... ;) |
so that's the secret eh, the joint!
its all become so clear now =p
you say you wait till enough emotional inspiration is accumalated to create the track/tune, so curiously, what triggered the inspiration for this one to come about? |

Addy_B: Thanks alot for the comment man, thats quite impressive, but im sure the feeling will fade as my tune is played out... by the way, let me be the first to welcome you to tranceaddict!
JJ-T1: Thanks man, I'd love to be able to get a synth sound like that actually, but we'll see... I'm plannin on adding another synth to back up the main one so it isn't the same sound throughout the whole song, now whether it sounds like a flutlicht synth or not we'll have to see... ;)
JayKuE: Well, I'm CONSTANTLY writing trance in my head everywhere I go. I never think of trance tunes that already exist unless I'm listening to them, otherwise I'm always writing writing writing... but if I'm in a good mood, or im sadened (im rarely ever angry), SOMETIMES a joint is all you really need to break down that wall in your mind and open it up to different melodies from what you hear everyday, etc... Now THIS tune I wrote for a friends' bday actually (ended up completing it 7 months AFTER his birthday though) but I think I actually had written the melody before I came up with that idea... hmm, ok I'd have to say happiness, it was over the summer, and I LOVE the summer, so much inspiration, sunsets, beautiful women, nature, and you better believe that I was stoned... I appologize if you were looking for specifics, my memory aint so good ;) |

[tu_face: Thank you for the tips and for you comments, really means a lot.. although I have a few folow up questions, first off when you say 'drown out the beat' do you mean everything, just the kick, etc..? Should I adjust the kick accordingly so its more powerful? or enhance the opther percussion so it can be heard better? And when you say the breakdown needs to be longer, is there a specific part that should be extended or should I add something else? Also thanx for the filter tips, I'll try them out, but I dont want the synth goin too quiet when its cut unless its fading away... And yeah I'll be doing something about the 'repetativeness' of the melody... I might add another synth to back up the main one so it sounds a lil different and/or add another melody or layer to keep the interest there ;)

for the beat, i think the kick needs more punch to it. the sample that you used tbh doesnt sound that good, try a meatier sample or back it up with another kick with the tone turned up slightly and the bass eq up. could even give it all a little bit of reverb :)
as for the breakdown, i think the gap between when the breakbeat stops and when the kick comes in again needs to be drawn out a bit, maybe the same again with the bass coming in or sumthin, kicking into the really in cool bit at 4:07. :D
and the melody, all it needs is some variation, its good for the first 30 secs - 1 min but after that u need to do add another layer so that the loop of the riff is double the length of what it is :)
hope this helps! if it doesnt, feel free to ignore me hehe:p |

| well.. excellent track there.. great piece of synth-work. Though it overall it sounds a bit too happy.. I like darker music but I guess that's just my musical taste. But this is quality! |

My newest tune and definetly one of my best. This tune has taken me roughly 7 months to complete on and off and with a lot of procrastination, but its finally done, and I need opinions! After I've gotten enough I will go back apply the changes to another FINAL version. I already know a few changes that I'll be making, im curious if they will be repeated in this thread... Anyways, listen, enjoy! :)

Yes... I'll have to agree... the melody is great.
And, although people have mentioned it already, I think the kick and bassline should be more present. Especially the parts where the kick is not regular on every beat.
But, it is a great track. :) |

Majglow: Yeah, it's allgood, you repeating it just lets me know how much it NEEDS it! Better kick, and basslines up a bit, I'll definetly do that, and thank you for your comments :)
eLe_vatE: Hey thanks alot man, You have no idea how many layers of percussion have been incorporated into that beat! Most are barely audible! I appreciate your comments :D
Project T: I use Fruity Loops (3.56 I believe) and Cubase VST with a load of plugins and effects n such... And I'm looking forward to your constructive criticsm as I was very impressed with your latest tune! ;) |
