| I still find it "impressive" but actually pretty disappointing that many many posters here QUOTED this very paragraph(to agree or disagree) and apparently didn't notice/ didnt CARE for that "little detail". |

OK, First of all to be honest the actual term of "Progressive House" doesnt really exist. (Wiseguys try to ignore my status line :))
Theres Tribal House, Deep House, Funkey House, Garage House, Soul House.

nah you're wrong prog house wasn't developed in the last few years, if you actually listened to more than just Sasha's GU13 you'd realise this.
Progressive house is an evolutionary mould of both epic house and acid house created in the early 1990's. Whilst guys like Sasha were still playing their piano man acid house, guys like Dave Seaman and Nick Warren were developing a completely brand new form of house, and darker, deeper more minimalistic form of house.
if anything mate, prog house has been around longer than the | quote: | | Tribal House, Deep House, Funkey House, Garage House, Soul House | that u speak of |

There are so much threads where I did some explanations of it...search for them :)
Anyway whatever I write down, if u don't like it u dont like it.
Once u have been there u understand, else nothing will convince u of liking it, simple as that.
Progressive is an attitude, the mentality of the music moving forward.
If u don't like prog u will not understand this statement. |

Believe me I have listened to House longer than GU013, I just adore it, its such a great mix.
Anyway when I said last few years I knew I'm not really accurate.
You were right about that. |

for alot of people they say they like progressive to be different and "cool" - but that just makes them jewsih |
You're such an idiot.
Prog is house with a trance twist and uses more then just a bass line and a synth. It's normally a bit slower but it's got more elements in it then trance does. And most people that like one, also like the other. |

you know, it is music, whatever music you happen to like, it doesnt make you cool or not, it seems like you are the one trying to be cool putting down progressive and stuff. i have no problem with people who dont like progressive, i used to not like it either. i still prefer trance/breaks over progressive, but i will still listen to progressive as i like it. but, i dont like when people just start talking because they dont like something. its music ffs. like what you like, and you seem to be the one who is trying to be cool because you listen to trance and hate on progressive. personally, i dont like rap or rnb or whatever, but i dont say genre really sucks, because i dont care about that genre, and it is a waste of time, so grow up |

this thread is hilarious. there are more opinions here than facts.
dj_mario and scorchio have a clue. listen to them. :)
to expand, progressive house has been around a lot longer than trance in it's current form. many people say trance developed out of the acid house scene. others quietly suspect it developed out of the progressive house of the mid-90s. back then it was just called house though.
people who call progressive "boring" obviously don't listen to it. that couldn't be further from the truth. my opinion. :D |
