Story time:When did u get into Electronica/ Trance

| After talking about this with a girl last night we realized that I have been into trance since I was about 8 years old. It started with New wave = vocals synths and trnacy elements, then came depeche mode. A few years later it was Ace a base then Ub 40 lol. Then came the one that did me in Venga Boys& Thunderpuss!!!. ok now its your turn :p |

unfortunately i used to be a hiphop/rap whore. i even went to see a puff daddy/ busta rhymes concert (hangs head in shame)...
then in 1999, i heard Chicane's saltwater.. and now 99% of the music i download is pure trance

started listeing to HOT 97 and their saturday night parties with skribblez, then la bouche - be my lover and some other euro pop, then robert miles in 96 i think, then crystal method, rammestein, prodigy, chemical brothers, atb,tarnceport1 by okie then 2 by dave ralph, mp3.com/trance control/infinity 303 and the rest..then found TA after Napster came about and here i am |

I mostly listened to alternative, and little rap before I was a trance/prog whore. But, I did like Chemical Brothers and Prodigy at the time as well, so I guess that was part of its roots in me. And then, one night some kid played a Sasha mp3 for me, and I was hooked. At the time, I searched for more Sasha tracks and "rave" or "techno" cuz I had no idea what idea what I was really lookin for. And through Sasha I found Digweed and other artists. And even though I was listening to these mp3s now, I still listened to majority of alternative. Until the beginning of 2002. I had a lot of EDM mp3s I hadn't listened to so I sat down and listened to most of em to clean out my Harddrive. I realized I loved this music, so I downloaded more, and searched the web. Found TranceAddict(dont even know how). And I got so much more info here than I could imagine. I still know nothing compared to a lot of you, but I am working on it =P. Now, I listen to 99% EDM (Mostly Trance and Prog, but other kinds too if I like it, i keep it). I also just got some cheap TTs for xmas to start out on, and right now I am working on buying some vinyls to actually use the things. All i got is my Ferry Corsten signed Ligaya vinyl =P. Once I get that going, I will practice tons. Right now though, I'm back to having a ton of mp3. I gotta listen to em all and choose what I want to keep. I am only 18, and I got into the scene late, but I will catch up.

1998 i was into trance...
But it all began since i was very syoung in grade school, those trpis to greece i went to where i heard all these asongs that were totally new oto me.. it blew my mind :P |

I remember listening to "in your face" (forget who did it-*free pint o'lager if anyone knows the group that did the song) and going nuts over it. I used to sneek out of my bedroom on saturday nights and watch FAB-5-FREDDY on Yo!MTV RAPS. i still like hip hop, being a child of the bass, but in 96 i went to my first rave in Allentown PA of all places (saw Rabbit in the Moon, por hasta). i remember going from room to room and a getting a taste of everything. A different night i was feeling a different genre, techno to house to trance to dnb to house to... At delaware (U of D-there should be no other to ever tell someone you were in that miserable state) my roommate and i ran a weekly dnb/jungle shoew called Crash and Burn. After college, i went a year of not really listening to much than i found Tiesto's live Dance Valley 2001 on napster and well

now i've been to Ibiza, Qontact-Amsterdam New years, glow, Roxy, twilo, avalon, shampoo, fever, tunnel...so much remembered so much lost. FUN is like that. |

1998 somehow i got into happy hardcore
1999 somehow happy hardcore turn into trance. after innercity99 and TE99 with ferry and tiesto, it has been all trance |

| I got into house/deep house like 1990/91. Even though I did go to the occasional techno party, I pretty much stayed with house. Then PvD's album "Out there and back" came out and I've been hooked ever since. Seen PvD 23 times since then. From trance I have also acquired the taste for real techno, which I am now as addicted to. My top DJ in that genre is Adam Beyer. |

| well, technically i've been into trance since 1998. thats when i bought Tranzworld 1. that was my first trance cd. then i went out and got Transport 1. i was into trance then, but i didnt because addicted till about a year ago. that was when i first SAW a trance dj live. Tiesto at exit in dec. 2001. i was into tiesto before that, but this made me love him and trance. i sat in front of the dj booth the entire night just dancing and screaming. now, a year later, i've seen tiesto twice, ferry twice (once on my bday arpil 5th!!!), pvd once and armin once. i am pretty much totally out of my old music habits (rap... except for Nas, imo the greatest ever.) and now into just pure trance. |
