| One of the reasons I'm buying XBOX. Anything Matrix is amazing. The first movie was wicked and so's the first Animatrix, the next 2 movies will kick ass and so will the game no worries :p. |

| You know, it's also coming out for PS2, NGC and PC. And from all the info that I've read thus far, the PS2 and NGC versions are the most superior graphics-wise. |

| XBox does have better grapics but it seems to me that production groups have yet to really be able to fully utilize the powers of the Box...but most of the time PS2 does sorta surpass it... |

Well it's one or the other, it either has better graphics or doesn't and it does. PS2 they've had lots of time to get into the graphics possibility but XBOX has a lot more hardware under the hood and can beat PS2 in a heartbeat. PC still reigns as graphics king though, as always. |

| well, in the end it'll be the best on PC; if you have a top of the line PC. I expect the GC and Xbox versions to be neck and neck and the PS2 version slightly behind, if the developers don't get lazy. The GC and Xbox are pretty much equal in power; with minor differences in certain effects. |

man, i love ignorance. A xbox-centric site posts that, so you obviously have to believe it. Not only that, but that comparison was made by Microsoft themselves, so it'll obviously make the Xbox look the most powerful.
First off, the Gamecube CPU isn't a Pentium like Xbox's. It's a custom-built PowerPC CPU. Like Athlon's of lower clock speed beat out Pentiums that have a higher clock speed, the GC's CPU is like that as well compared to the Xbox cpu. Basically, the GC's CPU does most actions just as fast, and more efficiently, as the Xbox's Pentium.
Secondly, the most popular point on that chart; the Polygon Performance. Xbox could NEVER do 125 million poly's per second in an actual game. Those numbers are only possible if there were no textures, no lighting whatsoever, no code for computer AI, nothing. Then yea, it could do 125 million (oh, and by the way, Gamecube does 8 simultaneous textures, but they have that marked as "???". Wonder why? ). The Gamecube's 6-12 million is a realistic, in-game estimate. 90% of the games out on the GC are pushing that many polys with all the lighting, textures, and so on. For comparison's sake; the PS2 is pushing about 5 million polygons in most scene's in MGS2. The Xbox can push the same amount (maybe a little bit more, but those are minute differences) as the GC.
Oh, and for HDTV support, they just left it blank there. Funny, cause the GCN is known to run games in 480p resolution, just like the Xbox :)
As for RAM. Yea, the Xbox has more. But it's just SD-Ram and it's unified. Meaning the whole system uses that one chunk. The GC on the other hand uses 24megs of 1T-SRAM as it's main memory. And 16 megs of 81Mhz DRAM. The graphics cpu makes use of the 24 megs; while the 16 megs are for the rest of the system.
Well, I have to cut this short (lucky for you, i guess, lol). Please don't take this as a flame or anything, because it's not that. A lot of people believe that the Xbox is the most powerful with the GC being slightly weaker than the PS2; that's Nintendo's own fault for being conservative about their system. Oh well, hope this gives you some insight on the GC and the Xbox.
Here's an interview for you to read if you want to; Factor 5 interview
And if you still don't believe me, then look at Resident Evil 4 and tell me how the Gamecube is pumping out graphics that the Xbox can't do. |

man, i love ignorance  all I said was that once they tap into it's full potential I think it'll be better IMO, did I say wether I was laughing at someone or at the web site, no. Unless you've tested all three to their full extent all you can do is state opinion wether it be yours or someone elses. |
