Almost 5 pm the following day, & still haven't slept. I think that's probably the case for half the TA's who went.
Smallish TA turnout- Sooper, Hansolo, Endlesswave, DietCocaine, High Spirit, Halo20, Cuzo, Jasmyn, Jazz, Hordash, Techno Addict, Fairy Liquid, Shaya007, Special K, & 1 more whom I'm forgetting- sorry dude. Ironically, Swamper did not make the meet up. :whip:
The 'performances' were pretty decent- not as nasty as I'd feared they'd be.
Mark Oliver was mint during his opening set- he was tweaking this 1 song so much, it was crazy! Side note: the more I get to know Mark, the more I learn what a super nice guy he is, and his talent shines thru. It's a pleasure to know him.
Howells played some pretty good tunes, but something was just 'off'- I think the overcrowding was getting to me & bringing me down, distracting me from the music (not like my mind was really focused anyways). Danny was having a blast in the booth, tho. Got to meet him afterwards- once again, he was really friendly to everyone- all smiles & hugs.
As far as Guv crowds go, they weren't too bad last nite, with the exception of the unnecessary abundance of in' whistle blowers!!! :whip: :whip: :whip: (Durafei- that same shmuck w/the whistle was there who we had a run-in with back over Halloween, & he was being really crude to the dancers).
Biggest complaint (aside from crowds) was the coat check- it took us 1.5 hrs to get our coats, even after cutting the line, at 6:10am. Cuzo even had a 1-hr wait at 3am. Read that others spent 2 hrs in line. :whip:
Thx to Adrian for the after-party hang out spot- hanging w/u, Linzor, Amanda, Sue & John was great fun, even if I was looking like a cracked out 10 yr old.

What an incredible night, I couldn't ask for anything more. Danny Howells was bang on and the ta's were out in full attendance.

Nat, I owe you once again for the incredible hospitality.
All the other ta's were ing awesome as per usual. Wait until you see the pics. Holy . hahah Sooper you're one crazy bastard.
Edit: Yeah I guess I should also mention that I spent half an hour up in the booth shooting the with Mark Oliver while being introduced to Danny Howells!?!?! ;) |

The hardest set I've ever heard @ Guv in the past 2 months!
Aside from the usual Guv drama(Coatcheck,Sweaty Juice heads,Over crowding...etc.) I had a blast. It was great to see a bunch of you Ta's,specially Natalie:tongue2 ....
I did take a lot of awesome photos too which should be up soon @ Luvtheguv.com,,,,,
No..Nobody listens to techno lets go...

So its 7:00pm the day after howells and yet to sleep either. I have to say that Danny played the sickest set i have ever heard. the mixing was superb, as far as tracks-oh my god!, he played to the crowd and it was impossible to not dance! I met some really cool people(hello to brian, aaron and patrick),and had an amazing time.
Tracklisting people!! i only knew about 4 of his tracks, but need to find out the whole set list!!!! Best song of the night...Nobody Listens to Techno by Deep Dish. It was nice to hear that.
Oh, i can't forget Mark Oliver, way to open the night. He played a little of everything, and really impressed me since the last time i heard him. best song from him was "dirty" by Marco Bellini<--hot track.
yeah, great night! hopefully eventually i will be able to fall asleep. |

Decided to go last minute.. and I'm so glad I did.
I thought the party was just wicked! The music was powerful, haven't heard anything like that in the Guv for a long time. Agree that Mark Oliver opened up brilliantly. The energy was tops, I could not stop dancing and only realized how bad my legs hurt when I sat in the car.
The red light district theme was.. different.. kinky. Well, kitsch actually.
Yeah, a bit crowded at times, but overall, hell of a party.
I'm glad I didn't miss it. |
