| Hating MTV as I do I never watch it except the Osbournes, but I thought I would check out the bug urban myth show because I was curious, anyway I noticed ALOT of trance being played specifically in the back ground, and my question is has this been going on for a while? And if yes does it scare and piss anybody off besides me? I remeber they played 4 strings - into the night, but there were others I just cant remember. |

| MTV Pop has started to show massive amounts of trance lately - almost half the stuff they play is trance... mostly the more commercial stuff (Groove Coverage, Mark'Oh) but some good as well (Talla, JamX & DeLeon, Gouryella)... it's really weird since the name specifically says POP. |

Why does this bother you, it should just be better if they broadcast it.
Why bother when they play more of your favourite music? |

| yeah.. i can't stand mtv. its like they are going from trend to trend, its like they are thinking: i've heard that pretty many ppl like music called "trance" let's start broadcasting some stuff to get more watchers. i mean like 2-3 years ago i would have been REALLY supprised if i saw any electronic music on mtv, the only thing they were play then was hip hop and other commercial . |

I like MTV :D I think it's a good thing when more people hear quality music. If you're a top DJ/producer (e.g. Paul van Dyk, Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Marco V etc.) and you see/hear your music being played on tv (e.g. MTV, but also other stations), you'll probably like it. Your music is being promoted and more and more people will discover it.
It's becoming a whole different story when you're a DJ/producer and you're producing just for the money (like all the BoozyWoozy's amongst us . But as long as your productions are quality than there's no problem in showing it on tv I think.

| Another reason why trance has/is becoming mainstream. Sad. I never thought I'd see the day. MTV is posing. |

Actually MTV works like that. They drop (even ignore completely) a certain target-group when another seems more favorable. The head of the MTV-corp once said that in a documentary about the tv-channel.
On MTV-europe it still mostly "hows", "heys" and "big pimpin" so no Trance yet and if they happened to play some I wouldn't give a sh*t. Only watch MTV for Celebrity Deathmatch :D

Trance has been mainstream for the past 3 years and it will soon become underground once again. Just have patience (lots a patience ;) ) |

| I remember last year or so, they had a show on MTV2 called amp. They played electronica spanning all over from tiesto to roni size. The videos werent great very rare u see something you know, but they always covered the WMC and tha elctronic music festival in detroit and a few big parties and also sometimes Cream, so it was good for something i guess but they cancelled it seems like, i never see it on nemore. |
