Just really not my thing, I like live instrumentation - fair enough I suppose - One day they may see the light.

Exactly that.

It all sounds the same.
Where are the vocals?
Trance requires no skill, repetition over and over again.

2. Not really danceable . . .i can somewhat see this because most of the trance shows i go to, majority of the ppl just jump up and down with their hands up in the air.

then what is danceable??
Vanilla
"Intro's take forever"
I hear that most, along with it all sounds the same.

the problem with trance and dancing is that trance songs have too many breakdowns and are usually long. Imagine dancing to a tune then all of a sudden the beats stop for 16+ measures for some weird breakdown . . . .ppl hate it.

6. Weird lyrics/scary vocals

I love trance and progressive. But, I feel that both genres can potentially have weird/scary vocals.

I live in california and j00 are wrong about candy ravers. There used to be a quite a number of them, but very few remain.

Survival of the fittest.. lol

Dood they no like then stuff them.. who wants friends that challenge what you stand and love, if they can't accept you for what you listen to then they are very shallow minded...

and cut the crap.. nintendo candy raver ... plZ!! :haha:

ok its electronic dance music so i think it should be danceable? and if u cant dance to trance then what? bump n grind to hiphop...and why would a person on a tranceboard and ask for reasons to hate trance hahaha:stongue:
montie
people have their reasons.
alot of people aren't open minded enough to accept and learn to enjoy trance or electronic dance music.
some just have different tastes.
different strokes for different blokes.

i love trance, progressive, house or any type of electronica.
i also love almost all types of "normal" music

and personally i could careless about candy ravers, dont dislike a music because of the people that listen to it.
I say good for them for getting ed up, having a good time, enjoying music and loving eachother.

i really dont understand why people are taking such an offence to this thread. all hes asking is what your non trance listening friends say about trance. lighten up.

my friends dont say much about trance just that they wouldnt go to a club that exclusivly played trance cuz they think its full of people on drugs...

i think ppl are too sensitive nowadays on the boards. I can say "whats so good about trance?" and ppl will go ape nutz and start insulting one another.

StereoPrincess
if ya'll think people are too sensitive in this chill out, eveyone should check out some of the local forums. :eyes: :eyespop:

I can understand why people would hate trance. I love it, personally. Although I wouldn't play it at a party, cause the breakdowns are really long and if the people just want to dance, and it might seem too "weird" for them. Maybe I could play hard trance/driving trance IE "Punk" by Ferry or "Out There" by PvD, but other than that, I normally don't play trance at a party. I play trance for my own enjoyment, but I like techno and house more just because everyone can enjoy it. My two cents.
