dammit!
I wish I had the kind of money you guys have for all that equipment.... All I got is:
Sony MDR-V700DJ headphones
Gemini CD-240 double CD deck
crappy Phonic DM3030 mixer
and a Gemini MRC-2 case

I'm too ashamed of it to post a pic....

i posted a few months ago but i have since gotten some new stuff so i decided to put up some new pics...

can't remember much from my studies, but normal power amps are made from capacitors, which while cheaper, more efficient, and less likely to blow then tube amps, dun have the warmth and fullness of tube amps. tube amps conduct the flow of the electric signal whereas power amps just kind of pass it along. if u were to make an analogy, it'd be that tube amps have a more analog sound, whereas power amps have a more digital sound. i can't remember the details as to why this is, but if u really want, i'll look it up in my notes.

tube amps are a thing of the past tho, most companies don't make them anymore, unless they are for audiophiles who are willing to shell out the insane amt of money that they cost.

I know it looks awkward ;)

My hats off to DJ Dawn for spinning flawless mixes (I listen to your mixes) in less than ideal conditions. I still marvel at your ingenuity.

Cheers!

dj dawn is a he, i made that mistake as well.

while we are on the subject, are you a he as well? just curious, i know a girl named jade. it's so dumd how the profile has no setting for your gender. anyway, girl or guy, i gotta say DAMN, that is one sweet setup you got:

is that a tube amp for each speaker? what sort of speakers are they?
does the sub have it's own amp?

It wouldn't, your mixes are already flawless. Shame the music isn't cutting it for ya anymore. You are my favorite DJ and I always waited (impatiently) for your mixes. Oh well, I am sure you will be back.

well i am a He : P dj Jade from my first name Somjade but people call me by my middle name, jay. yes thats a tube amp for each speaker. they are single ended triodes, 10 watts each. the speaker are klipsch RB-5II and the sub is the RSW-12. has its own 2400 watt amplifier... yes i know its a bit much and i have ti turned down alot. i got it thinking that i would upgrade the bookshelfs to floorstanding speakers one day so...yeah. the whole set sounds great though. my problem is that i was into audiophile equipment and speakers...and my amps before i started spinning so no i have to satisfy my dj side and my audiophile side...hence the nice equipment. thansk for the compliments : )

yeah, i thought they looked like klipsch, those must sound great. I assume you must have meant 100 watts for the bookshelfs, not 10 though right? and a 2400 watt sub, that's huge man, you could do structural damage to your house with that!
DjJade
no i meant 10 watts... its really not as little as you think especially becusae the drivers are rated at 96db sensitivity. yeah 2400 watts is a rediculous amount... a bit to much for now until my next upgrade which will be far in the future. i just dont like buying anything that i know i will throw away.
