Whats an XLR?

I"m thinkin of getting one of these.....is an XLR good to have or something......

BTW, I got some info on the mixer

Suppose to be in stores in about 1-2 months and it will cost about 4-5 lesser than DJM
amdmaxx
It is a connection type, like RCA, only better and can run longer distance..
also known as balanced...

I'm going to jump in here with an opinion.

If Behringer puts out a mixer for $400 CND, and a fairly similar (at least superficially) mixer from Pioneer is $1600 CND (let's say), there is indeed something going on here.

Question is, why is the Pioneer 3 to 4 times the price? Something to think about...

cos pioneer are djm 600 is built like a tank and will last for a LONG time! but no one knows how long the behringer will last

XLR's dont make the sound quality better unless your running tons of cable. IF you are at home and there is only about a max of 5 feet from your mixer to your amp, the sound quality will be the same.

XLR's are just pro level RCA's

I use Behringer compressors all the time at school. They arnt to good really. Break down a lot.

Its a knockoff, just save the extra cash and get a good mixer that will last you a long time.

The Pioneer mixers are tanks. They will out last you.:)

pioneer 600's are a feet of engineering. The eighth wonder of the world if you will. How they make a mixer that good is beyond belief. The fact that they used platic knobs and stuff and still it lasts and lasts and lasts............ is a tribute to pioneer. brilliant.

I would like to see an updated model coming out soon. that really would be something.

meanwhile...

/me buys a Xone32

Pioneer and Allen&Heath are as good as Dj mixers get. I've used the more expensive models of Vestax and Stanton and although they are pretty good they dont compare to Pioneer, and A&H.

The only thing i dont like about the A&H mixers are the split cue bull. I hate it, but other then that its golden

I would say to hell with Behringer when it comes to DJ mixers, if all they are going to do is knock off the big boys in the DJ mixer world then what good are they?

Im sure that company has enough money to invest into designing a quality mixer, untill they do.....F*ck em.
