I guess my only point is that a portion of the cost of the Pioneer is the "marketing image" of the product.
I certainly won't disagree with your opinions that the DJM-600 and such are built like a tank, and I think that I would look towards purchasing one a year or two from now.

XLR's dont make the sound quality better unless your running tons of cable. IF you are at home and there is only about a max of 5 feet from your mixer to your amp, the sound quality will be the same.
XLR's are just pro level RCA's | What are u talking about of course they make them sound better or maybe its just because your set up isn't as good as mine. |

G-money The salesmen must have had a field day when they saw you walk into the store. You dont know what the hell you're talking about.
There is NO differnce in audio quality between Balnced and unbalanced connections unless you are running meters and meters of cable. XLR's are balanced, so over LONG distances they lower Radio Frequency interferance. But on the flip side from a purist stand point you are running your signal through more electronics (Phase reverse, Signal summing) more electronics means more THD distortion.
So having XLR's on a home system dosnt do , and it certainly won't make your system sound any better then anyone elses. This is somthing you should know before spening money on XLR's.
I really hope your last comment was a joke. |

I was the one that told him to get a mixer with XLR's. But before you start trash talking me look at your post ya liddle . You admit XLR's sound better. Contradictive writing style???
XLR's DO SOUND BETTER IN MY HOME!! Breaking down my Gear(Raw Power Amps, Rack, console, ect. )all the time I don't have time to use cable ties and re-route every cable(trust me there is alot of cables.. Power & in/out) They are a Mess!!!There are Power wires running paralell with signal wires, I am constantly relooping things and changing setups to chase that perfect sound yet the 3 conduit xlr's hot, cold, ground don't pick up any noticable interference. Yet the RCA 2 conduit +, - I can gaurantee you will notice it.
The reason I told him to get a mixer with XLR's is simple, a mixer with XLR's in MOST cases gonna have higher quality electronic componets inside and be considered "professional" or "Industrial Use" quality. A mixer without XLR's in MOST Cases is gonna be a light duty "Beadroom DJ" quality product. DO YOU NOT AGREE???
Now your statement and rash comments do have some validity in the Hi-Fi or Audiophile world I agree, but shows your inexperience in the DJ or Pro Audio industry.
As for "more electronics means more THD" I would suggest you get rid of your stomp box quality effects. Exacly the reason I don't like pioneer mixers.
I buy XLR ends and build cables to suit. Its easy and cheap. And BTW don't use your school books against experience, you will loose like you just did.
Don't post man.. |
