Kytracid- Mel wasn't there last nite- the guy who started the thread made up that whole story- he never went (re-read the 1st post). ;) That pic looks really old cuz Mel looks real young in that pic. |
Ahh I see...I don't really know what the deal is with bashing candy ravers ( not that i think she is one of them in the first place). When was the last time a candy raver bumped into you and gave you a mean look like this is my personal space. Every raver i have met or talked to have always been pleasent. Sure, they love to dress colorfully and have lights around them, so what ? I'd rather be in a circle of colourful people who want a positive vibe then a circle of shirtless morons who can't dance and just want to go out there and display their steriod infused bodies to everyone. |

No argument there.
Personally, Care Bear sheets converted into phat pants and pacifiers were never my thing. |

Can someone please tell me exactly what BT was doing on his laptop?
Most people thought he was using vinyl scratch, but I had suspected some type of real-time, click and drag, loop software.
Either way, it was very interesting, but I don't think I have ever seen a live pa set that had so much of other people's songs.
Peace,

I didn't really pay much attention, but then again, my guess is he was using Final Scratch (playing songs from his comp on the turntables)... whatever it was, it was good. Plus he was loving it too! |

from what i remember he played:
calling your name
dreaming
godspeed
shoudla wrote down the rest when i was sober but hey, at least i remember he kicked ass
Holden - shoulda closed off the night, not Fairy Corsten (sorry but it was too much of a typical corsten set)
after Fairy dropped punk i was outta there. such an annoying song, my friend who didnt know any better liked it. but hey, sometimes the bad thing about taking drugs is that everythign seems better.
shout outs too all new TA's i met last night, and ones i already know (swamper, tatgirl)
and LKD - man i woulda had your back if anything happened with DJ Alligator up front.

LOL. Man, and here i thought only I was pissed that this idiot choose to position himself right in front of the booth with that silly thing in his mouth. Honestly, maybe he was under the impression that DJ's actually enjoy having this annoying addition to the songs that they drop...
Hell, it's better in some aspect to those fools who bring their airhorns into the clubs...those guys should be friggin castrated !!!
PS. If you're reading this WhistleMan, do us all a favor a keep that for the parties where they spin HardHouse...that's where it is probably best suited... |

| I didn't stay up front for his set, but if no one saw him fiddling w/a turntable, he probably didn't use Final Scratch. |

There seems to be a posse of whistle blowers at Guv the past few times there, each of them a moronic . Strength in numbers, I guess. If u ask them to quit it, they just blow it in your face more. They are much more annoying than the air horn guys, cuz those people only sound off once or twice, which whistle freaks will toot all nite long..... :whip:
Whistles are SO 10 years ago! |

Last night was great, I'm a little disapointed that I didn't come earlier in order to cach Holden's whole set. I ended up walking into Koolhouse at about 3:45am. But the nice suprise was Ferry's set which kept everyone moving the whole morning.:disbelief

And why would you do something like that...? :eyespop:
Anyway, after a couple of hours of rest, here's a detailed review of the last night:
Me & the crew (my sister, Dj Reza and another crazy Serb) got down around 11:45, noticed that the LCBO parking lot is full, some dude scared us off from that other parking lot across the LCBO one, so we gave in and went for the Guv parking lots... now that took us another 10 mins, since there was a huge lineup at the parking lots too (it's like the whole city wants to be in this place on the Sat. night).
Well, luckily we didn't wait one sec in that humongous lineup outside (thanks to the VIP treatment), so we got in through Charlies, and shortly found out that the access to GUV/KH from there was not allowed (temporarily)... so we checked out the crowd in Charlies, met a few ladiez (now I know where all the beautiful girls are hiding in that place) and we kept cracking jokes with the bouncer until he actually gave in 5 mins later and let us to the GUV.
Now, leaving our coats was a mission in itself. We went to the KH coat check, the guy tells us it's closed, we go down to the GUV coat check, there's a huge freakin' lineup... so what do we do? Skip the lineup and get rid of our coats in a matter of minutes (get a kiss from the girl in the coatcheck while waiting :stongue:).
So we head to GUV to check out the vibe... and after 30 seconds in there we figure out that the music is crap, vibe is non-existant and the place is packed, so we head over to KoolHaus (damn hallways between Guv & KH, they always slow everything down). Anyway, we get to KH and we are just stunned... the beats Addy was throwing at the time were en ridiculous! So we're thinking e, Addy is about to leave since it's 12 already, but no, he stays on for another half an hour or so, throwing down some sick beats! Props to the man... he never dissapoints.
So we're mingling around, meet a whole bunch of crazy serbs (no need to name them all), bunch of other friends, a couple of TAs looking for brunette (for some reason), brunette herself, TranceGeek, Photon_Trance joined the party later on, and a whole bunch of good looking girls throughout the night (Monica, Christy, something, something... too many names and numbers to keep track of).
Ok, so back to the music... BT comes on, throws a couple of damn solid tracks, then goes flat for a while, and then throws another couple of great tracks, and then downhill again. He was pretty hype tho, solid performer with that "Take that, bitches!" attitude.
James Holden's set was a bit boring for my taste (I kept thinking where the hell is Addy when you need him!), but hey, you can't please everybody... I thought he was really all over the place, not much flow. How old is that kid anyway?
By the time Ferry Corsten came on, one of my boys was trippin' out large (well, after the amount of alcohol we had, one of us was bound to trip out), so I had to pay more attention on him than Ferry. But I still noticed he started off real hard, I guess he left the cheese back in the hotel...
Anyway, we figure out that my boy is tripping out more and more every second that he spends in that place (due to the atmosphere/music/loud bass), so we take him outside for some fresh air and... well, anything that happened after that is just totally ridiculous and maybe I will tell that story later on (probably not).
Overall, it was a damn fun night! 'nuff said...
P.S. - Special K, those guys, Manzone & Strong, are indeed a couple of the most underrated DJs in this city... I didn't even know they were spinning last night (wasn't really thinking anyway, because if I was I'd realize they are in the Drink every freakin' Saturday), but I am definitely checking those guys out next time I swing by the GUV. |
