The night started off pretty ty, with the personnel at Guv pissing me off, those s made me wait in line twice.
Anyways onto more important things: The Music!
BT was ing awesome! I wasn't expecting such a high intensity set from him, too bad I was too pissed off to fully enjoy it. He wasn't using Final Scratch that's for sure because he never touched the turntables, so I guess he was using some sort of producing/sample/loop software pretty cool I guess, though you don't know how much of it was pre-programmed.
James Holden was really good, played some really nice stuff, and some really crazy too! Closing his set off with "fine day" was great, what a tune!
Ferry was great as always, solid mixing and solid track selection. He started off nice and hard, played a lot of new stuff and some of the expected tunes. I love his energy and how he interacts with the crowd, he's quite a character.
Highlights:
Solstice - with James Holden standing behind Ferry, Holding a copy of "Nothing" with TUNE written across it in black marker. Holden is a class act
Ferry holding up the "Ferry Is A God" sign with a big smile across his face, he seemed to be quite touched by it.
Ferry signing my T-Shirt that reads "Don't Stop The Music"
(Thanks to my gf and Swamper for hooking that up)
Too bad that nasty ceiling rain stained the shirt on the shoulder, ing nasty!
Proceed = Madness!!
and the first track of his encore....Corduroy - Sweetest Dream
WHat a track!!! Can't wait to get a hold of that when it's released.
And I'm glad a lot of you finally enjoyed Ferry this time around :D
Shouts out to:
Tatgirl, a party isn't a party without you
Sober_24_7, I'll be ending my weekend while listening to your tape :D
Time2Burn, always a pleasure to party with you
Endlesswave, nice seeing you again
ElKayDee , good to see you again
Malice, nice meeting you, we'll trade some sets on the hub sometime
LiL_Kandi_Angel, the night is never complete without you :happy2:
Hardcore_Trancer, party animal! hahaha
Swamper and Itikia, nice seeing you guys there, hope you both got some sleep and warmed up, Flyering right after Ferry in that ing cold ass weather...crazy! but someone has to do it
and to all the other TA's you were there, but I didn't get a chance to meet.
EDIT
almost forgot to send a shout to Deko-ze, its always fun to party with you. HOpe you managed to get over the annoying little things and managed to enjoy yourself.
St.Pete, saw you at outside but never saw you inside haha, hope you had fun |

That's why I thought I saw Deko-ze around there... up until now I thought I was too drunk at the moment. |

I wasn't really excited too much for this party since the schedule was announced, so I went there feeling.. neutral. Forgot to call for guestlist, but line-up was really fast (though still $#%^& too cold). Got in, and the damn airconditioning at Kool Haus didn't help much either. But Addy sure was heating up the place, I'm so glad we went earlier to catch him. Cought fantom + 1, drunk out of their minds, or, apparently in process (pozdravi Dekija :p haha).
BT came on and was ok in the beginning, but in about 45min really pumped it up, crazy energy, the entire dance floor was jumping with hands in the air, me included. Right there I knew Holden won't flow into that really well, and he didn't. His beats were awesome for some passive listening, and I was hoping he would play harder!!! It would've made so much more sense to let him close the night.
Jumped over to Guv a couple of times, nothing special, but Drink, as mentioned by Special K [hey :D] was blasting awesome tribal.
Photon_Trance caught up to us and surpassed us (but, alas, didn't last as long hahaha)
Back to KH, with Corsten kicking off. I have to admit that he surprised me by not being as cheesy as he can be, not including (many) anthems, and keeping the energy high.
Then, around 10ish, somewhere mid-town DJ Mute, at a private, invite-only party :stongue: ;) was just warming up and then just went
c r a z y  :D until 3pm-ish.. too bad my Sundays are the way they are [patiently awaiting the 21st]
All in all, it was a blast. Much more fun then I thought it would be.

Ok I have to ask... where the hell was everyone? I ran into so few TA's it was ridiculous, just Liam and the gang at the back early on and a group of others right at the front later on.
Ah well... guess I'll meet you guys & gals eventually... maybe @PVD.
Alright anyway, now that I've had some time to reflect, some quick shout-outs to those who I did manage to talk to:
- Firestarter, Trancearmada, Mecha: was nice to chill with you before the party and early on, I trust you all don't think I'm completely loco after my er, "varying dance styles" lol. Damn whistle kid breakin' out the glowsticks at 10:15, what was he thinkin'!? And mecha, you weren't saying much but it sounds like we have similar tastes in music, we should talk more often.
- Az (thanks for makin' me look like an idiot about the Dr. Z thing!)
- LKD (you wanna fight!? :p)
- RJ (good to see you again)
- Loco Moco & Kandi Angel (I don't think you guys heard me when I tried to introduce myself, that's ok, I'm pretty sure it was you two up there under the leaky ceiling with me)
- Nat of course (personally I thought the Corsten Sluts were hilarious, but it did piss me off when they started making the tracks skip)
- Tara (sorry we didn't seem to hit it off so well... I've learned my drinking lesson)
- Jon ("No hard feelings" Halo)
Umm... think that's all I can remember right now. Might have been a few more. Thanks for the good times, maybe next time when there's a load of TA's I haven't met and don't recognize, one of you can introduce me... |

All I can say is that this weekend was amazing. I'm finally home and thinking about getting some sleep. I've had 2 hours since Friday morning. Right now it's 6:30 pm Sunday.
Well here's a quick summary of Friday. Viva was awesome. Johan Gielen rocks. Went to the Comfort Zone after Viva. Unfortunately missed Addy and didn't really have all that good a time. The first DJ sucked and the second one was good dropping on of my faves Iio - At The End. The chicks were pretty good too.
Now as for Ultra Spin, AMAZING! I couldn't have asked for more.
My night started off at 11:30 going dancing like crazy to Addy's amazing beats. I didn't even like house until I moved to TO and heard Addy spin. Mad props to you my friend. It was great to have you spin for an extra half hour with BT going nuts with you. Thanks for the CD.
As for BT I fully enjoyed his set. Unfortulately, I didn't dance much till the end of it due to knee pain. I was very pleased to hear Dreaming and Flaming June. He is has a great stage pressence.
James Holden, I as many of you didn't know what to expect. I was pleasently pleased. Good mix of tracks. Great guy who just loves to party. He'll be around for many years to come. After his set we went to take a picture and he made sure to grab his 40 of Jack. Totally pleased to see him stick around and dance behind Ferry.
Well as for Ferry, after much disapointment during the October show, this was the best set I've ever heard live. It deffinately topped Tiesto. Ferry kept me moving all night. He was totally into the music and the crowd. It was great that he took the time during his set to autograph various articles for his fans. You could tell that he was loving it cause of the huge smile on his face the whole time. I know that a memorable moment will be that bit with the lighters. It was also great to see Ferry not act like the Super DJ he is. He walked out of the club with no entourage and simply waived for a cab.
Overall my favorites were Ferry and Addy. Keep it up and we'll never be dissapointed.
The club itsef was good not too packed. I like Kool Haus better as a venue. Much better setup. It's great having the DJs right there with you as opposed to up high in the corner. Coat check was fast both in and our for a change. So were the lineups. I didn't really like the ceiling rain. Kinda gross. I could use less muscle heads with no shirts on. We don't really care about your in muscles.
After the party I went back to Gamma's place with Time2burn to spin some tunes and play Playstation. Thanks a lot Gamma for having us over.
That concludes it. Great weekend. I got to see some of my favorite DJs and some DJs I never seen before. Best of all I finally got to meet many of you TAs even though I'm probably gonna have troubles putting names to faces. I guess that's what a bunch of pills and 2 hours sleep does to someone. Can't wait to see the pics. Well it's bed time. I hope to se you all aging soon. Certainly at PVD.
