Then again, they are not the first label to bite the dust nor the last.

Ppl with no respect for the music that rip it off is likely to be a main casue of it. I think Lightning/Bonzai is going to be the first of many that are going to fall this year if illegal filesharing continues.

That's bull and you know it.

Got the impression they were going down when i realised how many re-releases they were making on the Bonzai UK label. Pretty much what Hooj are doing now, but we all know there future detination, DJMaytag is pretty much accurate in his post.
Slapskin
the managment apparently got infected by an anthrax letter mailed to them by an anonymous albino, camel riding, bitch hiding, look alike bin laden. a spokesman for the record company stated that lightnings will be taken over by dave pearce's respected Nulife label. stay tuned for more as more news develop.

Whatever makes you sleep easier at night, knowing you're contributing to the destruction of this industry.

Of course you've studied all the figures and have proof to show me?

Thought so.

i would never have found out that trance existed if it was not for file sharing. And for the record, when i get tracks i really like, i do go and buy them

one of the stupiest comments I read this week!!

come on without mp3 I wouldn´t even know that there´s something like Trance, I mean I would know stuff like Mark Oh, Lasgo, Darude and stuff but not the uplifting stuff.. Now I know the real trance and buy many cds.. How many ppl in America would know Trance without mp3??!! Without mp3 tiesto + many others big djs would be almost unknown!

well well, mr.knowitall antimp3 man is back.

Let's see here, before you completely blame it on mp3's, why don't you take a larger look at the big picture. Even they admitted themselves that bad management was one of the causes. Let's think mr.know it all.....mp3 downloading could contribute BUT!....it maybe one of many many reasons. They did release certain acts on some of their labels that no one bought. Let's see here, if no one wants to buy it...WHY SELL IT!. Then again, I bet you probably already knew that....or did you. See blaming it on one cause is foolish...kinda like you...then again....we already know that. Look at the big picture.....bad mgt + stuff that no one bought + some mp3 lost revenue = demise of lightning.

You ever realize that your complaints of illegal file sharing fall on deaf ears and that you could not stop it if you wanted to. Did you also realize that lots of companies made fortunes in 1998-2000 when trance hit the big time and since the ECONOMIC CYCLE GOES IN CYCLES...that it has gone from tremendous growth into a downturn in the economy as a whole, not just in the music industry. Then again, I bet you already knew that or did you?

It's all to do with what they release, we're not gonna buy e, andif they're managed badly, no amount of sales would make up for it, its the scapegoat, and not the true picture
