When a few a you guys came down to the Ta dinner and pvd nov 02 I had a great time with them. They were soo nice and seemed to think we were ok also. This hate is just closing your mind up man. You may not like our stance on issues but that gives you know freedom to say things about americans as people. Were do you come off doing this? i cant stand this bull...americans are so dumb..why would u even come on here and post hatred its a waste of time and you know will only cause a flame war...as far ass CNN goes..people from all over the globe work for them and if your argument is that americans are dumb because some college intern ed up a news graphic..u need to take a look at yourself. when you are kept under a microscope every little mistake seems big.
i dont like bush..i think hes like high school kid that just got voted most popular and is trying to show off..i dont think he is smart man. i am not one of those gun ho americans who wants to go to war..i would never want someone to see what i did when i looked out my window sept 11 saw two buildings that i loved up in flames...or when i was getting phone calls from my friends saying their girl friend, father, mother or brother had passed away in the attack. its one thing to see it on TV..its a completely different thing to witness it first hand.
i am a strong believer that SOMETHING must be done to prevent that from ever happening again..not just here, but anywhere in the world. its not going to stop on its own.
im getting off topic here...the point is i have enough respect for all of you to not come into a forum and start bashing everyone from your country because of its policies or something i saw on your television. i seriously take offense to these stupid american comments. I have enough common sense to realize a country is made up of all types of people and generalations and stereotypes are just pure ignorance. |

thanks kirbtastic......your the only one on this thread that makes sense. this whole thread has got me fired up also. my aunt worked in the Towers and was killed in the attack also...."God Bless Her". i dont believe war is the way but if thats what it takes, then so be it. i agree and think that this thread should be deleted.

Well I am terribly sorry if anyone here lost friends or relatives in that trajedy. And I think as all people here do that it was a horrendous attack.
That said I have a question. Do you americans ever wonder why it happened? I mean somebody was angry enough at you, hated you enough to fly airplanes into 3 of your buildings, attempting to kill 60 - 70 thousand innocent people. Do you ever wonder why so many arab countries and people call you the Great Satan? Why does their hate run so deep?
Me personally I cant fathom it. But the hatred is there, and it's there for a reason. Maybe the United States should try to focus on finding these answers instead of focusing its energy and resources on activity that fosters and intensifies this hate. But I do know one thing, this vigilante justice will get you nowhere. Further agression and bullying may spark a war you cant really fight, a war you may not be able to win. |

we are hated because our values, our way of life. we are also hated because we back isreal militarily. it was a global decission to give isreal part of palestine. after WWII there were millions of jews with no place to go..and due to the anti semeticism through out the world..instead of giving them refuge in our countries we took part of a country that we didnt have the right to take. no one wanted all these jewish refugess in thier country.
now we will not stop backing isreal..they are a true democracy in a region of the world where freedom is a rare commodity. although i dont agree with how isreal came to be..i do think they are a great country and with out our support they would most likely be subject to way more terror attacks then they are now. if you remember the gulf war, iraq just didnt invade kuwait..they were lobbing scud missles towards isreal. |

possibly, altho i wouldn't say completely. remember a lot of people hate the US government and not its people. and i don't think that it's right out of envy. Many other countries enjoy a higher standard of living than the United States (possibly Canada included) yet we are not 'hated' as much by developing nations. I think the anti-sentiment runs much deeper than that..

I will tell you one thing.. its not because of your values or your way of life. They wouldnt be killing themselves for a cause that simple. They wouldnt be launching themselves into buildings, and strapping dynamite to their chests because they thought you were a little greedy or money hungry. They hate you because of your foreign policy. Because you meddle. And not only do you meddle you only do it when its in your best interest. Where were you when hundreds of thousands of tootsies were being slaughtered in Rwanda. And thousands of innocent people, much like the innocent mothers and daughters in 9/11 have died either directly or indirectly because of this foreign policy. Those people had friends, those people had families, and after years and years of American inflicted hardship how do you think they would feel? Popular estimate puts between 5000 and 15000 people killed as a result of the gulf war (mainly because their water and basic essential infrastructure was targeted by the american military). What makes the 3000 lives lost on 9/11 more important or more trajic. How was that more of an evil act? Before the gulf war Iraq was a prosperous thriving country. Now, bacause of your 'economic sanctions', while Sadam is sitting in one of his 17 presidential palaces, people in cities like Baghdad are dying on the streets in absolute poverty. Baghdad was recently rated the worlds worst city to live in. And all this directly caused by your American governments foreign policy. This is why they hate you. Becuase you are killing their friends and loved ones. Not because they think you are gluttonous or greedy. (although those are reasons most europeans hate you).
It makes me so sick watching Americans spew out political platitutes they hear on TV. Please people, ask questions, find the whole story. |

I thought i would offer a opinon, yah i agree kinda with above, i love the USA and think they are great, except like with anything human created it has its fault, the USA foreign policy has its good momments like the marshall plan but then it also has a werid way of backing people that turn out to screw them in the back like iraq vs Iran, or the Shah in Iran, to Latin America and Panama and others, the USA foreign policy has not always worked. But then i would not say it is american fault, as one must seperate the state from the people. When i am angery at the USA it is not because of pity jelousy but because of something they have done wrong.
But overall i will say i rather have the USA as the only super power then China or Soviet Union, for all the bad things the USA is i think the postive aspects are greater. Canada, england, USA and Austrilia are some of the most ethnically diverse countries, places for the most part if you apply yourself you can succedd, unlike other countries.
So yah the world is ed but it could be worse, saddam must go, how or when is a question, Palastine needs a state, North Korea needs to open up, and people just need to be a little more happy. |

first of all dont ever accuse me of plagiarizing bush..i am not a bush supporter and i am intelligent enough to come up with my own opinions. dont give me this because of my economic sanctions speech either..we trade with irag for food and supplies for the people. they need our money more than we need their oil..we import most of our oil from venezuela, canada and mexico. if canadians diagree with our policies so much..why dont you start a nation wide ban on american products and stop trading with us. its that simple..stop bitching in a trance chatroom..which ironically was created to bring us all together for a common love and do something about it.
saddam is not a good person, he murders and kills his own people..if you think this is bush proganda also..u can speak to my friend and his family who did everything they could to escape the horrors that saddam has inflicted on irag. 5000 to 15000 people were killed during the gulf war...death is going to happen in any war. how many isreali would have died if scud missles were allowed to hit their country? how many kuwaiti's would have suffered and died if saddam was allowed take over that country.
as far as your quote with the suicide bombers..i guess your talking about the PLO...and i agree with them...it was unfair what the world did to them. i dont believe isreal should be a country..but the USA will not stop backing them..becuase they are a democracy...and your right..we probaly back them more becasue they give us a strategic position in a part of the the world that is hostile towards us. im not saying i back them..maybe i should have made that more clear.
if it was up to me..we would be an isolationist country, but that is not the way it is..it is impossible to be that way in this age..its a global economy. as americans we are damed if we do, we are damed if we dont..we get spit in for not helping people..we get spit on for sticking our noses in other peoples business. i dont agree with everything my countrty does..i dont hate france for not agreeing with us..and i think calling french fries freedom fries is just in ridiculous..but im happy i live somewhere where i have every opportunity available to me and where i am allowed to dissagree with the policies of my government openly with being tortured and killed. if u think im an arrogant american because i love my country and the freedoms it gives me..so be it, but not once have i ever started a post about stupid canadians or any other country for that matter. |
