What would have happened if Hitler managed to beat the Allies? If he took control over Europe and maybe the world. What kind of an opinion would you have of him?
Hint: Think of living in the Roman empire, what would you think of Caesar?
Or even, think of living in India/Australia/South America/North America about 200~300 years ago under the British empire. What would you think of the British Kings/Queens.

Even if he took over the whole world and personally invaded your house, he would still be 'evil' in my books. Systematic killing of millions of people. Propaganda. Human medical experiments. Ummmm.... making lampshades out of human flesh and soap out of human fat might ring some bells.
And, you haven't met my mother. She IS evil. Not as evil as Hitler, but just as crazy.
, people- there are a lot of psychos in power in this world, and while u may not like George Bush (I don't care for him either), he sure as hell isn't off testing biological weapons on the Native Americans, or raising his kids to torture, maim, and kill political prisoners, like a certain Saddam has done. You just wait and see. When this war starts, and Saddam strikes back w/the weapons he (supposedly) doesn't have, you'll eat your words. Unfortunately, the problems w/N. Korea and Iraq should have been quashed early on when Clinton was in power, but he swept it under the rug. Now, Bush & Blair have stuck their necks out on the line to do what's right. Why else would N.Korea & Iraq be building these biological and nuclear programs all these years? For their use in later times- Bottom line.
Liam- I didn't think you liked living under your parents' rules, let alone a dictatorship! Shall I call them and tell them to turn the iron fists up a notch, to give you a better feeling of 'order'?

Um no.....North Korea is the communist nation and they're the one stirring up all kinds of right now...getting their nuclear facilities up and running, which will allow them to build nukes if they don't already have them, which is in direct violation of a UN resolution from 94. South Korea is a democracy. |

i think you should ask the same question about USA. What your saying is they can't have 'biological and nuclear programs' just because USA says so, well maybe USA should get rid of their own 'programs' first. Now i don't think none of these countries should have these weapons but... |

Well, the US (and Britain and others) have had these weapons for almost 60 years and have only used them once against Japan, which was totally justified in my opinion.
I remember Saddam shot several scuds (the most devastating weapons he had) at Israel in 91 and used chemical weapons against the Kurds in Iraq. What if he had a nuke or something like it? He wouldn't hesitate to use it and I am all for stopping him NOW before he can get one and he HAS been trying. Same with North Korea.....we have some real ing problems right now, and despite my reservations about the Yanks, I'm going to support them when it comes down to it. I know they have oil interests there too though.....but if it makes gas cheaper for us, then go ahead and do it. |

Well sorry. But my grandfather was an RAF pilot in the Battle of Britain and saw just what the Gerries (as he calls them still) did to England and the rest of Europe.
Germany is soley responsible for TWO WORLD WARS...the Second World War alone took over 20 million Russian lives, 10 million German lives, 6 million innocent Jews, almost a million Brits, 300,000 Americans, 45,000 Canadians, 55,000 Aussies and New Zealanders, 400,000 Greeks, 1 million Italians....need I go on? And people DO (Germans convienently) forget that the German people DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED Hitler and for that, they will always be responsible in my eyes. I know several people who are of direct and recent German descent and I have no problem with them personally.....but as a whole, the German people must accept total responsibility for the suffering they caused. I remember a tutorial last year where we discussed how the German education system practically breezes through the Holocaust and downplays the nation's guilt. Maybe that's why you're so defensive about a shamed nation?
I may be prejudiced, but I can back my views up with facts, considering I'm an Historian in training. |
