| He also played: Piledriver--Amoebassasin. I am sure you can just look at the Another World or Travelling cd for the rest of the set. I think it might have been fun but he has got to change up his sets. |

so what if these arent the most in underground tunes... and so what if skribble sucks and oakie plays stale ... at least this is a sign that trance is being more accepted by america...
btw... someone tell me when the word goddess became synonymous with bitch? cause it seems to be that way a lot :) |

No. Oakie is commerializing Trance...making it mainstream. He is all bout the fame & fortune of being a superstar DJ. Anyone who calls himself the most successful DJ in the world isn't passionate bout the muzik.

I don't think he ever claimed himself the most successful dj in the world...he had been named the number 1 dj in the world by dj mag a few years in a row I believe.
And the bitch comment is out of line....it's just that we all know you hate him...you don't need to keep bashing him over and over. |

Damm... then how come I dont see everyone in ( Germany, Holland, UK and wherelse ) bitching about it Twilogoddess?!?!? In germany you got VIVA TV showing some of the tunes you never thought had videos.. and there they are SHOWNED big time on tv.. as well the new channel in UK, some clubbers channel where they will go and and show all the big events.. Summer Sound System, creamfields, and all those big Events Crasher has been throwing down lately.. I wish Id be able to watch it .. wouldnt everyone like to see for instance ULTRA live through Cable TV here in America ?!?! I know many of you would love to...
SO quit that bullcrap on that Oaky shouldnt spinn.. is a sign of realizing that people here in America has to have chance to at least know some other sounds.. in many places they dont even know what trance is and are so friking ignorants.. if they like what they hear on MTV with Oakey.. then good!!!! so like this we be able to get some trance videos or something streamed.. and so finally MTV realize that they've go to move on to what the sound of this millenium is and leave the crap behind!

| I don't see anything wrong with making the electronic music scene 'maintstream.' I mean, just cause the music goes mainstream doesn't mean that it's going to turn bad, actually it will probably be the other way around....Dance music is defintetely mainstream in places like the UK and that place has some great producers...I figure dance music is soon going to be big in the States and I think that's great because America is a huge music market. More money will mean more innovation, more producers, and more music (some quality / some but isn't that always the case?) |

Few years ago, he said America wasn't ready for his music...later he said He will Nail America.
U ppl need to wake up. Oakie is all bout reaching the masses. Y the is there a Tranceport Commerical on TV? the album is 3 yrs old. He plays the SAME set EVERYWHERE & charges over $40 for a ticket. Think bout it. |

| I feel that it is great that someone, him or anyone else has introduced Trance to mainstream america. If you say trance music here in the states, the majority of the people have no clue what it is and they think it is like one of those stop smoking tapes with music of waves crashing or birds chirping. As for Paul, I have mixed feelings, he in my opinion, is cocky and arrogant, sure he is good, but I have no respect for people who think they are too good. Is he one of the best? Arguably possible, but people who think they are god, I have no respect for. It's also supposed tobe about the music not the money. As for his skills, they are indeed very god, possibly he spins some of the same tracks a lot, but ou have to remeber that when people go to his parties or hear him spin, sometimes they are waiting the whole set for that one track that he plays that they just always get goosebumps over. My 2 cents. Peace and Respect. |

Well, I know for a fact that he didnt nominate himself as the BEST and TOP Dj of the world... he did pioneer trance to the americas, wich the became big after his work ( I know some say he didny pioneer it, is true, but he is the one that lets say.. made people give the attention to it ) . And well, Oaky himself said to a US mag that what he hates about the UK is the press, they make up so much bull ... ( Muzik, MoS, Mixmag .. all Uk .. so figure ?! ) and well, in 99 overseas everyone was sweating Oakey.. so they could've make up anything to make him look big....
By the way.. he was nominated the MOST SUCCESFUL DJ, not best.. so figure why his been the most succesful ?!?!? just think about it :-) |
