Why are people avoiding the Producer Promotion forum?

I have noticed a few threads here lately mentioning the fact that some people would rather post their tracks for review and critique in here than in Producer Promo. And I also notice that a lot of the regulars in this forum never or hardly ever post in PP.
Why is that?
I guess this might be kind of a feedback loop: it becomes common knowledge that a lot of people avoid the forum, which makes people less likely to post there, which intensifies the perception that the forum is unpopular, and so on... |

It sounds like Armin van Buuren's ASOT wastebin. Maybe this is a bit harsh, but more often than not, if I go to listen to a few tracks, they all sound exactly the same. Sometimes there's a track that isn't modern uplifting trance, but not usually. Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong threads, but that's been my opinion of it for a while. |

I think we've got some kind of good thing going on here.
everybody aiming to produce and sharing knowledge.
I don't want to promote my tracks, i want feedback, from people who are "close" and i sort of can rate/place their comments.
In the PP forum, there is loads of crap being posted and loads of releases being dumped from people who are no further active in this community. |

True. That always annoyed me, too, all the people who dump their tracks and never give anything back. |

for me its simple i once posted the same track for feedback in here and the producer promotion forum here there where 3 pages of comments againts 2 posts in the producer promotion forum! its a no brainer i think there should be a sticky topic in here where people can post there unfinished tunes for feedback, id be happy with that |

Surely that's partly the point of that part of the forum.
Maybe you could share some of your superior skills with those that are making the crap. |

I did a thread a little while back requesting a 'brutal feedback' section here as I strongly feel the core helpful producers hangout here. The promtion section is often choc full of finnished works rather than just WIPS.
Perhaps do away with the 'brutal' bit, but something is needed here IMO.
It's too clumsy having that other section especialy if you have a slow PC like me (the one at work that is).
I still think a dedicated section here will have the right dynamique and thrust. Not one of those single threads with one WIP after another - they do my nut in - too much to take in - between working!
So how about WIPS here and promotion and finnished works in that other place full of randoms, tee he. |

if people have certain they want looked at, then this seems more the place. People should be mindful how often they do it. |

It's just had some.
Oh no, he told somebody to off and posted one of his own tracks.
We'll see him again in 6 months or so. |

I would gladly help moderate that forum.
What exactly would you guys want a mod to do, though? |

for starters, non sumpreme members can should not be able to open topics only reply to them (contribute) in the PP forum
also one should define "release" i mean is everything dumped on soundcloud with CC license also a "release"
and we should move the WIP part to here, maybe we should get a supreme section (like a vip club) where only real active members can play |
