BassAngel (feat. Ryan Offutt) - Loss of Focus

Hello one and all!

At the moment my time is being taken up with finishing a project I started last year with some guys and gals from the course I was doing at my Church. Ended up recording about 10 songs with different people (some read poetry, some sang, some played guitar, etc etc). Can't wait to get it done so I can get on with other stuff.

Here is one of the tracks from the album anyway - it's so depressing cos I was happy until I heard it on monitors and may have to redo but seeing as we're all perfectionists I'll just throw it out there for your downloading perusal!

BassAngel (feat. Ryan Offutt) - Loss of Focus

It's different seeing as it uses a live guitar but hey - check it out!!!

Comments more than welcome!

Hey there it is! I PM'd you what I think. I think it's really great stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up on some Cafe del Mar CD

Keep this up!

Thanks Jay, comments much appreciated! I've been producing a lot of chill stuff recently and really want to get back into the aggressive/melodic hybrid stuff again. Guess you just gotta go with what comes out though eh?

Cheers buddy!

That's an acoustic guitar recorded live and fit into the song. It was the basis for the track really.

How refreshing

the groove is kinda cool, and the Gut works really well, slap a nice Vox over it and, hey, its summer sing along time!

Good job,

Abs

Like it!

How about going euphoric cheddar and something like:

Feels so good inside,
Got nothing to hide,
I'm in your dreams,
Busting at the seams,
We're a shining star,
We've travelled so far,
(random ooh ooh ooh's to fit)

Or perhaps poetic narrative:

(in uber-serious voice)
a man,
a darkened man,
a serious man,
deeply, slowly, reflectively,
his furrowed mind (ever building tune now)
slowly furnished with the thoughts of the day
(dude stood there with far-too-serious expression on his face, hair blowing in the wind, fade.....)

Apart from these little gems, I can't think of anything. But I have got a lay-dee coming round to do a bit of singing on Monday, this could be perfect!

Thanks Absynth, I think I may just do that!

Cheers matey!

this is really nice mate. The bass guitar section at like 3:36ish could have used some beefin up though. The bass seemed really thin, it would be nice if that was heaps chunky.

Other than that, cool work, I really liked the piano at the ending too
