Exclamation 2 Suggestings for this Forum.

We have a few rules now on the TA forum, but it still seems that we need a few more, so here I suggest the following.

First, it’s time to change the layout of this forum, each day TA producer promotion forum get new tunes posted, but sometimes people take topic titles as “New track” or “PLS REVIEW” etc.

I think this is something that needs to change in a proper way.

First Suggesting.
(Genre) Artist name-Track Title (Which Mix) Example (Trance) Massive-Temple (Original Mix)<192> also if you’re posting a preview sample Post an S (Capital Letter please) before (Genre)

If everyone introduces his topic like this and no other way, the visitors/reviewers and Djs have more INSIGHT on what’s on the forum. Not everyone have all the time in the world to check out each topic to find a track that suits him. (People familiar with clubcharts.nl forum, will recognize this I think it’s time to introduce this also in TA)

Also Some info about your track would be nice, occasionally people just post I made a new track please leave some feedback. It would be nice if you also post why you made, with what you made, how much time you been spending on it?

Second Suggesting.
I propose that we make 1 TOPIC (not sticky) were people can post samples below 2.10 min, or samples of unfinished projects but your still curious on some feedback.

Why? Because its so freaking annoying when people post a full finished track, which they worked hard on someone ells posting a sample and pushing down the topics, that’s just not fair.
I just can’t see the point of making 1 whole topic for a small sample, we can also use this 1 topic for people that got signed, and wane give us a low bit rate small preview.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Discuss this please, i think this forum is beoming a mess tbh, also i want us all to pressure swamper to get more moderators. i asked him once , but he don't wanne assign new moderators, he said if luke needs new ones he just assign people that are already mods to this section.
There are 5 moderators and only luke is modding the Production studio and this section, not sure about the DJ forums, could be luke only also.
Am not sure if Luke is having a hard time, i recon not, but if you gonne introduce few rulez, 1 mod doing it all can't be enough, and its harsh that 1 person is locking. warning everyone, maybe some people will think that Luke is the Saddam hussein of this forum
Anyway Please disdcuss even if you are new to this forum, or new to producing, you are human right? say whats on your mind..
Fahad.
EDIT:
Don't make this sticky, i wonder how many people read that .
I agree with you entirely on this one. From now on, when I post, I shall be employing this format!
How many times have I trawled through here, downloaded Megs of an MP3 just to find out its not my thing.
Leaving feedback would be pointless. Another topic listed here.
At least this way you'd know what youre goning to be listening to and what it was made with.
And please don't forget to mention your cat's name, your birthday, how many hip hop clubs are in your town and how many pixels are on your screen right when you finshed uploading the sample. Please tell every deep feeling you had, every single drumloop you used...
I think those details are no obligation to give. If anyone wants it's ok, but if not. Why not saying: "Enjoy my new track !" ?
ok, lets say about 5 people post new samples each day. Would be 35 new sample in thread in one week, 140 in a month. This would be totally chaos, some people would get no response to their samples, because the better tunes ( which is a question of taste ) would get more feedback. And who would like to review a topic with so many new samples ?
And honestly, lots of the samples that are posted are sometimes much more interesting than the complete songs of some people...( which is again a question of taste )
this seem a pretty good idea at least. I fully support this kind of labbeling for the new tracks.
There are no Obligations at all, am suggesting..
I said it WOULD be nice , aren't you curious why tiesto or armin made this track? and with what? and how he got inspirated? it's just some info to make your post more pro.
If you post like hey i made a track FEEDBACK pls, you just sound like a kid imo.
Am not saying give me your whole life story, merly saying : I made this tune, made it with Reason 2.5, masterd in blabla, maybe why you made it? and how much time you spend on it.
As for the sample topic, i have an counter arguement for this..
First
It works great on the dutch forums
Second
I am here to review FULL MADE TUNES, NOT SAMPLES of 64 bitrate that are less than 2 minutes.
If you post a 2 minute sample and say its not finished i can understand why people won't review.
If you really want alot of feedback.
A: Make a great tune
B: Review other people
C: Post a decent sample/clip.
A and B works, B and C works, All 3 works..Not doing B and C? to bad for you.
As for C, people that are signed or not finished with their tune, i don't wanne say hey go away, but am saying don't screw the layout, because you ruin it for the people who actually are promoting FULL TUNES. So we make 1 topic. thats the idea and goal.
No hard feelings mate i just feel that this section ain't what i used to be like 1 year ago
I agree with the first suggestion totally. That is one reason why so many people never get reviewed; there is nothing that states clearly what the genre is, so why bother downloading it?
I am not so sure I agree with the sample topic because the samples would never get reviewed due to the clutter in the thread. I do think, though, that if someone posts a sample and then finishes a track, they should post the final version IN THAT SAME THREAD.
I can't really say anything other than that I agree 100% ... good suggestions
I don't post that much stuff in here as it is (only because i don't finish much stuff though.. heh), but in future I'll be sure to abide by that naming technique and give a quick description
I don't see the need to specify genre, it's a horrible tradition trying to put music into groups so they can be described in one word.
Maybe describe it a bit in the first post so people get an idea, but trying to describe a tune you just made in one word isn't easy Plus there's the inevitable "you said this was trance but it's quite obviously techy-trance with a hint of drum & bass and a sprinkling of goa" replies
I really think it's a bad idea having rules for what people should post. I'm about to finish a track. I didn't make it for any reason and when I post it there's not much I want to say other than "here's my new tune, please let me know what you think." I could make up some stuff about what I was feeling when I made it but what's the point?
I also think that only completed tunes should be posted here. Samples of tunes should go in the "Production Studio" forum.
Everyone knows how to label basic trance or techno or hardstyle etc.
If your not sure you can always put an questionmark, like (Techno?) if people think it ain't than you can edit it easy.
It's not a Rule that should be seen as a harsh rule, but it's a great tool for Djs and maybe even people that own labels.
Who knows maybe labels will tend to check out this forum more often, if they can have more insight, you think a trance labels or dj knows which tunes are tranc and which aint?
Also you can always say with what you made it, how long you spend making it, any VST used etc..you don't always have to say why you made it, i just gave an example. but you can always give facts about your production
