new melodic track, Derosas-Canyon

So finally I produce something that I am somewhat satisfied with. Sorry for the HUGE size, 11.7mbs. It's progess from my last few tracks, so I'm pumped. All comments are greatly appreciated

I like it! All of it! like your bassline, like your synths, your drums, that melody,...
Recommendations? Maybe you should enhance a bit the mids/high, boost a little the bass, and compress it. Make more present the open hat and... nothing else!

great song and great sound!

Cool! thanks for your comments, I'll some of those fixes. In case anyone is wondering, the bass is a layering of two basses from my DX7II + a sub bass from Virus C + a fuzzy bass from JP8080. The DX adds a lot to basses from my experience.

Pretty decent track m8! Only thing is it lacks bass/low end. The kick is present but could use more low. The bassline is hidden. Open hihats are a bit of a blurr, but that's ok (I prefer a clearer sounding).

Nice work, you got more somewhere?

Sounds nice! Some comments:

1 - The kick needs more low as Jay. So goes for the bass.

2 - Nice buildup lead.

3 - The intro+buildup, takes too long, it gets abit boring after a while. Variate + add some FX.

4 - Wonderfull transition at the break.

5 - The break itself needs a to be phatter it sounds pretty dull and simple right now. Add a substring + panned pads or strings.

6 - Typical trance melody, not bad yet nothing special

keep working

Antonio.

Update:
Stupid me deleted a bunch of wavs from that project, so I had to work using the entire song as a track, then add layers. I added a sub bass, sub strings, a low kick, and another layer of open hihats. Since I lost the actual project, I wasn't able to shorten the intro. After taking your great advice, my track is sounded A LOT better.

[It is late and I still have mastering and finishing touches, new sample will go here tomorrow afternoon]

I like the bassline, but it could still use some more boost. I don't really like your melody, it just seems really cliched to me. The song's pretty good, but you could stand to have a somewhat more engaging melody.

plus
nice beginning
I like the darker approach
ok pads
u got a fairly good melody

minus
beginning is a little long
the first synth is getting me tired
there is to little happening until 2:30
dont like the percussions (too much in the background)
generally too boring build up until about 3:30
synths aren`t too good
the climax reach in 4:59 is very weak,

conclusion
Well this is not bad, it is just a little boring, very little happens, and the percussions are very weak, there is no drive in the song, everything sounds very flat, u got some nice effects.. I really enjoy the track after 7:46, then I think it is really good, excellent, but I think the synths are weakening the whole track I think, and u need to work on making the track more interesting to listen too.. but I do enjoy the datk feel of the track

It is not bad it just needs more work, it sounds very reasonish (correct me if I am wrong)

keep it up

after 7.46. well, at least you like the last 45 secs... I did not use reason. Actually, I used Sonar 3 and hardware synths. Shame on me for making these high quality synths sound like software.

Well the link at the top now goes to my newest version, w/ bass added. After I cry for a little while, I'll start a new track. I'll apply some of the things I learned from you all.

(me thinks to myslef)-"I am improving, some people like it, I like it. keep going, dont stop now"
