Heey Mantrance.

Starts nice, the kick and bass line are ok. Hihats are a bit too sharp. I had the same problem, you need to lower their volume or just cut some high. Other than that, i really like the percs in combination with the bass, has a nice swing!

The big boom might be a bit too short to create that banging effect. The female voice could use a reverb, it's there and away very quickly, pity.
Personally not a fan of the low piano, some more notes and higher does the trick to me.
Synths and melody are ok. I think they could be a little tad louder.
The pad later in the track is cool, really fills it.
Buildup is good, fx are nice too!

Don't get me wrong, trying to help you, I mentioned the things you could change IMO, if you like... Overall it's very good! Keep it up!

Cheers Jay,

All your comments have been taken in.

Have been struggling with the boom, using a FreeAlpha patch, but it is too short. Any ideas to where I can get a better patch?

Gunna apply some more reverb to that female voice on my next update after some more replys.

hi hats aren't really too high in frequencies.. they just need more around 5-15khz..

the bass could use some reverb/delay - but the synth for it sounds nice

try putting some reverb on the FM mod bass (the wooomm) at around 2:00 - or try making it longer..

this piano sort of sucks.. the notes on it don't really change enough..

I dont really like the female voice thing at the buildup.. take it out, it would sound better without it.. having it in there makes you think she is going to start singing later on in the track which she doesn't..

the melody is only OK.. it's sort of boring.. and dont put in the FM mod (the woom) at around 4:15 and 4:45... it intereferes with the kick/bass and can easily distort it..

Synth at 5:10 needs more FX (reverb, delay, and maybe a slight flanger for character)..

that break down (where it's just the female voice) at around 5:50 or so is really dumb.. it's a good idea, but that voice really sucks..

not bad, over all, my biggest concerns are the melody being a little dry and the female voice..

good start with the treble coming in
evertyhing seems ok first 2 minutes, u just needs lots more fx i think, then on the voice that comes in at 2:02 needs LOTS of reverb to make it more echoey,
the breakbeat is nice, just the delay on the piano isnt too good i think u put it on a delay of 3, try 4 and a longer delay, itll sound better because right now its too straight...
then the perc that starts off at 3:12 that goes from left to right speaker, its too empty/boring, u need more percs in there
melody is good, so maybe those ^ things will work dunno... good luck with the track

peace out

Listening,
First of all i want to say you have improved alot. Love the bassline. The kick is abit hollow. The buildup is too boring imo, that syth comes in too soon. Needs more variation. Break is nice, cool pads and like that break beat thingy. However the piano has too much delay (delay2?) the piano should be softer, reduce the hardness abit.
I dont like how that kick comes in suddenly after the break, made me jump from my seat. The melody is ok, but nothing special, pretty simple.
Keep working on it. good work.

Cheers for all the comments guys, really appreciated.

Going to keep working on this and maybe try and develop the melody a bit, bring in a new lead, variate the piano, and get rid of the vocal sample.

Any1 else?

this track is pretty good. but not my style
i think it would do really well if u sent it to a label, but there r some missing elements in this track, ie the electro beats r a little too weak imo, could of done with some thickening up with some EQed hats and snares...

as i said to ya in the msn convo, the percussion is nice...the kick was compressed the fuck out of and the hats neatly EQed.

what else did i say?

uh...it had a transa feel to it or something...
ah yeah it was well layered and shit...

the pads and choirs were warm, i thought that was quite cool

but this track is good and is definately worth sending off to a label.

i would of wrote a better review if i liked this kinda of trance but unfortunately im into the harder stuff so i couldnt give a detailed review...

keep up the good work though ^^

Pretty good. Nice bassline you got there. I don't like the percussion much though. It sounds as though you have too much resonance on them or something cos they kinda pierce through a little in the higher end.

Melody was good and lead was okay although at time was a little hard to make out through all of the other sounds. Maybe this was intentional, I'm not sure.

At the end of the song, it sounds like an average dj attempting to beatmatch. I can almost hear a double beat in there.

You have lots of potential. The song sounds really good. It's mixed and mastered well. The bass is full and tight, I liked it. But, it didn't really move me since there is so much out there that sounds similar. I think you're at the point where you can let your creativity guide you since you already acquired production skills.
Good work
Cheers

My biggest comment would be about the kick; it sounds kinda flat and lacking punch, and could definitely use a little more mid-range to it. Synths and bassline are pretty nice and I really like how the beat comes back in at 3:00 out of nowhere really. The piano in the breakdown sounds a little too mechanical and I think it could benefit from a little bit of delay instead of coming in *exactly* on the beat (this is getting picky, hehe). Otherwise, sounds nice and I like it.

Yeah, I think this is your best tune so far...

First two minutes are really solid good stuff. At the breakdown I think the vocal sample could do with more reverb, and not sure about the piano sample you've used either. Same as Sean, I love how it kicks back in on the 3 minute mark. I think the main synth could have been boosted up a little too.

Overall good work though, keep it up.
