BIG THANKS to Dorumalaia for the vocal samples! They added a lot to the tune.

Thanks for listening, xenocreator, andy sevil, lightworks and montana!

xenocreator - I tried for a while to get some inspiration w.r.t the strings, couldn't work out anywhere for them to go Maybe once I've gotten a bit of distance from the tune, I'll be able to fix them up. Filter movement sounds like an excellent candidate.

Good point about the hats, Lightworks, I'll definitely try a more subtle sound and see what that does.

Thanks for your feedback guys! It's really appreciated

argh, really? i guess that's either really bad (subliminal plagiarism), or really good (original but familiar).

any other comments, tips on production etc?

This sounds a bit lofi despite of the 192 kbps quality, dunno why. I think there's too much mid on the synths. Vocal sample is sweet tho. I like the melody in this one, very peaceful sounding. I'm not at all fond of the kick in combination with the percs and clap, like I said it feels low fi. Percs could use some variety as well, maybe work on that. I like the theme in this one a lot.

Good luck!
-Jay

Hey Pho-Mo,

This track keeps me interested from start to finish. Only the most well thought out tracks really do that IMO. Sounds are awesome, especially the strings/pads. I don't really listen to much vocal trance so the samples aren't familiar. Just really great stuff.

lovin the plucky synths with that beautiful stereo delay
yummm........ recluse ish
top vocal work... fits very nicely over the top, which the stereo and volume automation only capitalise.

overall great melodic piece with great mastering

Thanks heaps for listening!

Mike Foyle - glad you liked this one, it's probably no surprise that you've heard the kick before ... it's from the 59 powerful kicks pack that was posted on TA fairly recently. The vocals, as I said before, are from one of Dorumalaia's sample packs. Thanks again Doru!

Jay M - will take your comments into consideration, I may go back and try a different clap, and lay off a bit on the filtering on the percs.

Thanks for the constructive feedback everyone!

That kick is breaking my speakers lol

This whole track is very good, quite PHAT indeed. I would like to see that hand clap a bit louder tho.

Tight work, very tight.

man... very good tune

bassdrum sounds great and offers a solid feel to the tune. the clap rocks. hats and stuff sound very good, too. vocal is wicked. melody isnt very memorable altough it works and sounds quite trancy to me.

overall this tune sounds very sophisticated. all those little effects make it sound very complex.

Pete B - well it's probably a good thing, you needed new speakers anyway lol I'll buy you a new pair. And I'll work on the clap, maybe it'll break your new speakers...
soundrush - glad you liked it, thanks m8!

nice and loud to start off with, you get some real kick on that kick matey =)

I'd stick a 1/8d delay on the bassline, to bang it out into the stereo field

there is something slightly wrong with the background rolling snare sound, seems just slightly out of time to me (it comes in at exactly 1:16) - other than that I like the way the percs build.

slightly disturbing the way it cuts at 2:26

like the bit at 3:06, yet that perc sound is still disturbing me a little

at 3:40, it's building to be a nice track - not sure you need the break at 2:26, just let it keep on building and building.

getting into this now, which is good and bad - cause the section through 4:40 should have been in the track way earlier; structurally, it's probably a good idea to have the best part of the track come in at around 3:00.

has the potential to be really nice, justneeds a bit of re-structuring, and maybe some extra subtle effects thrown in here and there - and sort out the timing on that perc.. =)

cheers

Optik
