i'm still working on the remix

i tried to finish it by the deadline and got pretty damn far, but it was not in submittable form by the time the time was up to turn it in.

the contest gave me some great motivation to get started though

may the best remix win!

just out of curiosity... are the judges just assigning a score to each one of our mixes or are they commenting on it... and if it would be possible to read those comments as well.

That's too bad. There are as many remixes as last time and then there was a ranking with points. It isnt that much work to do some math with the points given from the judges...

The judges are giving points to the tracks aren't they.. how many judges are judging anyway..?

This is more about every participating remixer than just the best remixer, everybody wants to know where his remix stands.

its a fair point. id like to know how i did and my score compaired to the winner-even if i come last... a comment about each track would be cool aswell.

I understand your point mates, but the point of this competition is to find out who was the best remixer, not who is better producer than the other, this kind of ranking always do more bad than good, and could even discourage some participants to continue making music.

You all did a great job anyways.

Well.. my point of view is that indeed it's not about who is better than the other, it's about YOUR position on the ranking.

It is encouraging to listen to better mixes and point out by listening or by comments what can be improved in your current way of producing and remixing.

Apart from that, if you're to compete in this contest, you must face the possibility to end somewhere in the lower regions of the ranking (most probably resulting in a learning phase afterwards when hearing higher ranked work). If that discourages you have to think your participation over again.

See what others think, I'm not discussing this to be a pain in the ass here

pm's sound good. then we will know our strengths and weaknesses and can share them along with the post of our rmx when the judging is over. i wouldnt be against having my position posted to the masses tho. even if i come last i dont care if i come last. it was a fun experience entering. i have no complaints about people knowing where i came in the comp.

anyways, its your call pdm. and pm's sound like a viable option.
