I'm with you guys all the way on this, many people miss out on potentially good music because of a thread name. People have to be a bit more open minded as they browse around, keeping in mind that some people just don't name their stuff in an appealing way.
MY style of naming is, if it's a new release from me, i'll put:
[New] Nullistic - Track Name (Track Style such as melodic, uplifting, hard, whatever it may be), and sometimes track length and bitrate afterwards.
but is it really necessary to have a track title if it is a work in progress?
I don't really understand why people post work in progress samples here in the first place. I mean it's a promotion forum and the WIP samples hardly ever do the finished product any justice so why even bother?
Another point is me having 241 different versions of the same track on my HD but that's an another thing...

^ you don't have to save the song on your HD...
i understand what you're saying, that this is a PROMOTION forum, but being here for quite a while, i have realized that this section of TA is very powerful in getting some good feedback on tracks.
So when I am unsure of what direction I wanna take a track, why bother forcing myself to finish when there are many people on these boards that can point me in the right way?
Take a look right now, i'm sure there are at least a few unfinished tracks posted up there right now.

I agree with you ethereal.
If an artist posts a work-in-progress track, they should just put that as their thread title, along with any info on the track such as what style it seems to be going in so far(if possible).

A sollution could be one thread called: Work In Progress. People can post samples here and get some feedback in the same thread, reviewers just quote which sample they refer to. There's threads like these on other forums too, works great. Only 90%+ finished tracks then in the main Promotion forum.

make a STREAMING PREVIEW of the fricken track, i just hate downloading 2 megs even on a fast connection
Well could be good if you have your own site. But here the sites like soundclick and some others come in and I really hate those sites. No oversight, ugly, not personal, ...
I prefer downloads. Or, like I do, streaming sample on my own site.
