The rules are there for everyone, and they are there for a reason. It isn't difficult for people to abide by them. The other users of this section will start wondering where the cutoff point is for these double standards.

Or maybe the rules need a closer examination...

what I wanna know is where the line is drawn about all this.

I mean as the rules are stated now anyone can post a 32kbps sample and just say "hey, sry for the low qual but It's pending with a label right now)

no one will be able to prove a person wrong if he says this and thus it will be possible for anyone to post lowqual samples.

you need to either remove the rule or rework it because as it is right now there's a big hole there for anyone to use.

it's up to you luke, as I see it you have three choices. Leave the rule as it is and be prepared that people might abuse it. Rework the rule or just remove it.

imo you should just remove it. posting a highlight of the tracks best parts with fade in and fade out should be enough to avoid it beeing played out at clubs and such

Excellently structured, just don't like the supersaw, but it's a trance standard nowadays, so it's hard to stay away from it. Plus your previous tunes have used it as well.

Hi Airbase,

Nice intro, straight into the energy, i like that. I funky feel to this track now, like a bouncy bassline going on there...still good. The synths sound fluffy and not too hard, it works.

Not to keen on the delay effect imo...

Into the breakdown...again that delay effect. I dunno, there is something about the melody, i dont like it much now imo i prefere the original...sorry.

I cant comment on percussion, kick etc - Very Low Quality...

Terry

- The Fx vocal is a bit annoying because you use it so much in the song. ( too repetive )

- Did you make those synths with only software

- The composition is outstanding

- The bassline is really nice

- Too bad you didn't used much Pads/Strings in the break.

Good luck with signing this track ( which shouldn't be a problem ).

If that person is Airbase, Pulser, Rank 1, AVB or any big producer, there is no doubt that he's telling the truth. The song is by the way extremely good so that is also a big indication that he isn't lying.

Ok I got the file just for the fun, but 32 kbps sounds really disgusting.. I don't understand that people could listen to this. The highs are just one big mpeg-blur. I'd rather listen to tracks at only-djs.com, the music there sounds better, and they are full versions as well LOL

I remember that there was something mentioned in the rules, but it's left away now, that if there were label or webspace issues involved, lower bitrate files could be placed. The mods only had to approve with it, so that would indeed allow this thread. (But there isn't anything about it in the rules now, so IMO it should be changed)

I'm not offending anybody, this is only my opinion.. but taken this into account, I still find that a 32 kbps track is exaggeratedly (is that english?) low.

As Luke said:

i find 32k a bit extreme

sorry but im fed up of seeing people complaining all the time about bitrates. if the inconvinience of having one extra track on the forums is too much for you then you are really too fussy to be here imo. This guy is not an unfriendly person for posting low bitrate, you lot are unfriendly for not accepting him for it. open your minds a little. if you dont feel you can post on the quality, then dont, post on the melody instead, or dont post at all, if you dont like something, ignore it dont go pasting your views on it all over the place because it just causes fuss and hard feelings and no one wants that. if you arent happy with the quality, then dont listen, and dont post, all u are doing by posting is keeping the thread at the top of the forum, and if your views on posting low quality samples are that bad, then surely this is the last thing u want. lol

anyway the track.... (wow i went off on one a bit)

Its got a nice kinda electronic feel. Nice edits and stuff. i like how the bassline isnt static, and those sweeping saw effects are lush. melodies are cool in the build up. and i like how the structure is quite complex and you get all sorts of crazy fills between phrases. Oh break now. really cool melody, almost threatening. this kinda melody drives the track really well, and its deffo helped along by the bass line and percussion. sounds like there is a little hick vocal, which is really cool.

I like this over all, would be very interested to hear a higher quality version. email me if i can hear one.

Mike

youre not getting the point here. I'm not doubting at all that it iss Airbase that's posting it (especially not since the track is mint apart frmo the mp3 qual.)

what I'm saying is that as the rules are stated now anyone can basicly say "my track is pending at a recordlabel" and then post a 32kbps file.

My question then to all you "I don't care if the quality is low"-persons is: how fun and easy will it be to browse this part of the forum and give feedback on tracks when the majority of the people is posting lowqual. samples of their tracks?

PS. Airbase, I'm really sry for hijacking your thread like this for this discussion. This is in no way personal critisism against you or any of the mods. I'm just taking up a problem that needs to be solved so don't hate me for it okay (your track still rocks! )

if the forum gets over ridden by everyone posting lo quality then so be it. this forum is not a source of free music purely for you to enjoy, its a place where producers can get honest critisism and feedbcak, if they post a lo fi sample, they will get no feedback on the production quality. but thats not our problem now is it? so why all the fuss?

well how easy is it to give critisism to a track that's so dammaged by the low quality that you can't even distinguish the mids from the lows?

I mean shure people can just ignore to give critisism to thoose tracks but it'll end up in shitloads of unnescesary threads.

hmmm, this isn't getting anywhere it feels like. maybe we should just take the discussion of his thread and either start a new thread about it or just leave the subject and let luke run the race
