I have the same problem.

The vocals aren't really false I think, but they don't seem to fit with any of the melodies I find in Pumaz's midi file...

Thats true, but just do what I have done & write a new chord progrssion that fits the melody.

Not to hard, just work on the bass notes first untill you get something that sounds nice, then build from there

Take a look at the midi file again, There is a vocal section to it, that fits with the vocal files.

Some of the vocals are ghosty/morph like, but I have seemed to work it out nicely in my remix.

I do agree 140 bpm works out with the vocals.

They're pitched, trust me
I put the notes of the vocal from my 12" in the midi because I could hear straight away that the acapella was taken from a vinyl that wasn't on 0 pitch. And they are false as well actually...

That's what I have done.

Here's a sample.

I know I'm hardly a regular here, but have decided to do a remix anyway.

I got the vocals shifted up a semitone to fit on 138.7bpm.. seems to work fine. I'll be slicing up each line into seperate files though, for both flexibility of use and getting the timing absolutely perfect

As for the midis... why use them? Part of the remix process, in my opinion, is to devise your own variations of the melodies, or just create new ones (unless they're the major essence of the track). I didn't like the 5am remix originally anyway; the original had a much nicer feel to it... I've used the basschords from that and created a new melody over the top.

Looking forward to getting this finished

So I guess I'll have to write a new melody as well

Unless it's too hard to find the root key for these vocals? I'll start on from the vocal midi you gave Pumaz, that one seems to follow nicely.
