Something thats bothering me

OK
From my point of view - this forum is about people who wants to get feedbacks on their tracks and to show the crowd what we are made of . Thats why i think each one should reply and write feedbacks on other artists productions and respectivly posting their own. The main reason i decided to open this thread is because i've come to see more and more artits posting constantly their work here BUT not giving something back to the others, by listening and helping younger producers or whatever. Any solutions? Cause this is abit sad you know...
I hope i was clear enough, and i hope you understand what im talking about.

Peace.

I totally agree.

Though don't know if there is any solution for it.
It is up to each individual itself to start the change...

It's a valid point, and I do agree that there is a high ammount of people who just post tunes but don't review any. However, I can see the non-reviewers point of view too. It seems that people only really tend to get masses of feedback when they are one of the "big hitters" of the production forum. Why post feedback to others tunes when you only get one or two replies at most for your own efforts? Just because they aren't established as one of the forum talents, or are less skilled at production, doesn't mean they don't deserve feedback any less. Plus, there are the people who only review thier friends productions, or will only review positivly peoples tunes in order to score brownie points.

Also there are other non "political" factors too. For example, I only tend to post comments if I have something constructive to say. If I really don't like a tune at all, or there are pages worth of pats on the back, what's the point in posting any more about it?

Things need to be worked on from both ends to resolve this.

100% true. You have mentioned some other important facts as well.

Yeah...that's right But I think, that's a problem of most public boards/forums, which aren't private only for people, who are really interested in helping other people

On the other hand, there insn't any solution to force people to review work of others Only way is banning, but I think, this forum would not like to ban anyone

"On overy forum is only few people who help and the others only use them...." and it will be like that until all people will be interested in helping, but it's only a dream.....

Well I've got something to say about this.

These days too many people just post here and expect to be reviewed. Someone who hasn't reviewed a thing, goes like this:

quote:

A few tracks for you to listen to.

Link to some website which includes some tracks somewhere

Any comments would be nice. Bye.

Please tell us who you are, what you use to produce if you post for the first time. And tell the story behind the track. Gives the track character, more fun to listen too and helps people being constructive to your track. No matter how crappy it sounds. And no matter how many tracks you post. I think that the reviewers should focus on other reviewers' tracks, rather than the people who don't review.

Look at the big hitters threads. There's no constructive criticism at all cause the tracks ok. But you call that reviewing? Tell him/her what you like about it! Of course there's nothing wrong with tapping a back, but thing is there's too much asslicking going on here!

You may certainly kiss mine but I'd rather hear some constructive elements! I got some real good points from TA-listeners/reviewers on my tracks lately so I'm not complaining about that atm.

There's so much to learn from just reviewing. I do it a lot and it helps me. People who know me from here can tell, my production skills boosted last months. And with that I help other people out, and that's not just a thing just a few people should do. Review and get reviewed, or just be gone! No need to ban, that's of no use. You don't review, you won't have reviews. That's all we need.

Oh and then the thing people can't handle criticism. Argh why did you post your track then anyway?! Just to get yur ass kissed, right? Cause you're the master at producing! Well you're not, cause if you were, you'd not be posting here. (why am i posting here anyway.. ) I just got a review from some guy who was comparing me with PVD. NOO i don't wanna be like him and besides PVD's far too big to be measured with! Ok, I was a little harsh on his ass but at least I was being constructive. Flame me if you like, but be constructive!

I think these things should be pointed out well in the rules section (so Luke "" Terry, e.g., have a read). What you guys think???

There's nothing wrong with people just listening and picking the best music, that's part of the meaning of this forum: promotion. They may kiss ass or flame without being constructive, you don't have to review their work. Obviously these peeps are not what we're talking about here.

And if you don't mind.. have a listen to my latest track, the link's above my sig.

lol i love the way its all so political i try and review when i can and when i feel i can be constructive. also i think that compliments are great inspiration and thats y i think alot of ppl post on here. they know they are happy with a good track but they want other ppl to say the same. Compliments from ppl who know what they are talking about are great inspiration to make it even better. u know what i mean? i think alot of ppl post for a bit of ass kissing, and i think fair play to them as long as they kiss other ppls asses from time to time

Yeh it's ok to say if you like a track. It's somewhat harder to point out what you exactly like and what not, but that's quickly learned if you think about what you hear. Thinking of what you hear is exactly what reviewers do. Of course it's motivating to hear that your song is good. But that isn't the case sometimes. 90% or more of the tracks here need improvement, and it's up to us to find what that could be.
